Ryan Dinwiddie would consider any NFL opportunity that's the right fit
Hope it doesn't come to that. Ryan is 36-14 as head coach, and stability at the head coaching position would be important.

I understand any coach or player wanting to go to the NFL but I wish Dinwiddie would have been a little more discreet with his answer, shows a lack of respect for his current job and employer in my opinion.
Simply respond “I’m enjoying coaching the Toronto Argonauts” and let your agent conduct business behind the scenes would be the professional way to approach things.
Just a few short weeks ago we were all happy at with the continuity of this coaching staff heading into the 2024 season but evidently things aren’t always as they seem.

I think that often players and coaches don't realize that what they're saying to a local news organization in the US can easily make its way north of the border. I don't consider what Dinwiddie said in Idaho to be anything that we already didn't know. Would I have liked to see him say this instead: "I would consider any NFL/NCAA offer but I am extremely happy with my current position with the Argos"? Of course, but I think that the interviewer wasn't likely interested in talking Argos/CFL so the conversation never went in that direction. That's just my suspicion anyway.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
This is expected when a young coach has a lot of success. He may get an NFL opportunity, but like he says it depends on the fit. He just has to look at Scott Milanovich. His NFL jobs didn't lead to anything steady. He's become a coaching nomad.
Not surprised that his goal is to end up in the NFL, who can blame him with the financial disparity between the two leagues, my issue is the open campaigning for the opportunity while under contract with another team.
Respond diplomatically to the question (as Ravi pointed out) and let your representatives work behind the scenes, that would be the professional way of doing business but as you said it’s the way things are now.

This is precisely what Kelly did last off-season: talk openly about pursuing a job other than the one he has. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. Have all the dreams, and have your agents pound the pavement on your behalf, but don't openly disrespect the fans of your current employer by speaking openly about your desire to be elsewhere.

Maybe CFL guys just aren't as trained and polished as those in the NHL/NFL on how to deal with the media. If RD wants an NFL job he should probably learn from the Belichick school of media press conferences and not be so open and honest.
But does make me wonder if RD did this to let even the NCAA schools know that he's available and that they can come knocking. Almost like him saying, I'm not looking for a relationship BUT if anyone contacts me, I wouldn't rule it out.

To me, this is a nothing story. It's already a known fact that coaches and players will not be held back from NFL opportunities. Would it suck to lose him? Of course. But such is life in today's economics of pro football.
It's us vs the rest of the country
His own alma mater who were looking for a new head coach did not even bother to interview him. A championship coach and coach of the year winner. I think it's safe to say he is not on the radar in the good old US of A. Not sure why not.
GO ARGOS!!!
