Love him or hate him, he made a significant impact as a top-flight player in this league for about a decade, and by all accounts was great in the Hamilton community.

He was always Yappy behind the mic but I have no doubt a nice guy off the field. CFL needs characters like Lawrence. Hope he has a good retirement.
I wasn’t his biggest fan but for me there is no doubt he is a Hall of Fame player, played at a very high level over an extended period of time.
Ticat fans thought he was god like as he appeared to have a full complement of teeth.
Kidding aside he is a very active ambassador in the Hamilton community so kudos to him!

Does anyone remember a documentary series about the Eskimos that aired around 2012? It followed the team for a few weeks or months. I can't recall where the series aired exactly although I think it may have been on CityTV. Anyway, the two memories I have about that series is how excited management was in recruiting Simoni Lawrence and the series spent a decent amount of time on Lawrence in his rookie season. The other memory I have is how Ed Hervey seemed annoyed with Eric Tillman at one point in the series. Hervey was Tillman's assistant GM at that time.
EDIT: Here's a clip from that series:
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
