I'm also curious how someone can claim "wrongful dismissal" when they have been hired on contract on a year to year basis. I don't know the law on this, but one would think it's the organization's prerogative to decide whether to offer an employee another contract and could likely defend themselves simply by saying they decided to go in another direction. I guess the basis of her claim is that Kelly was sexually harassing her and instead of doing anything about it, the Argos just decided not to renew her contract. But depending on if she has any evidence, it might be a hard thing to prove in court.
The Process continues.

I expect a CFL led investigation will be completed hopefully before the season one way or the other.
The Argos in the meantime, should really be looking to bolster that QB depth chat. Scott and Dukes ain't going it.
It will be interesting to see what the CFL does if their investigation does find that the Argos were informed of the problem, but did not follow up in any way (no discussions with individuals involved, no complaints process followed etc.) I suppose it could just be maybe a fine and some mandatory training about harassment in the workplace. Could they also do something like suspend Kelly for a few games? I'm not well acquainted with how the CFL has dealt with any kind of player misconduct in the past.
At this time there may not be any better QB option than Dukes. He looked very poised and competent during the times he played last season. One other possibility could be Dane Evans if he could be persuaded to come back from retirement. That is a bit of a long shot but failing that, the team may decide Dukes give the team the best chance of success.
It is way too early to count Kelly out but we will have to see.
I bet Kelly will still play this season; maybe a couple of game suspension.
Regardless, Argos do need to look for more QB competition for TC; wonder if they would think of signing Cornelius ? Please no to Arbuckle though.
There are also 4 QBs invited to the 2 upcoming Combines (2 to the main and 2 to pre-main version); all 4 have pretty decent resumes. Forward, non myopic GOB thinking could see one of these guys either drafted or signed as a FA, to compete in TC. But after last season's QB competition thinking, I wouldn't hold my breath there.
It needs to be completed way before the season, i.e. in the next few weeks. Anything other than that will be a massive fail on the league's part.
As for signing a QB, I'd be fine with signing Cornelius. I really like Dukes, but have no idea if Scott has anything to offer. Cornelius, despite his failure in Edm, has some enticing tools.

Yes the investigation definitely needs to be completed within the next month, especially when you consider that:
- Rookie camps across the country will open on May 8 with teams being required to reduce their rosters to 85 players (excluding non-counters) by May 11.
- Training camps will open on May 12 with teams needing to reduce their rosters to 75 players (excluding non-counters) by May 14. Training camps will conclude on June 1.
If you’re the complainant, there is no way you allow for a league investigation to be completed by the time the season starts. Any investigation should include an interview with the complainant. Why would they meet with the league knowing that their Human Rights and Civil Litigation case are yet to run through the courts? Or worse, a favourable judgement in favour of Kelly - potentially exonerating him for these actions.
Unless the league is planning on cutting some checks or planning to release the findings after the case is either settled or adjudicated in the courts - i see no possible way the complainant meets with the league. Zero material benefit to them.
And, any "investigation" is pointless without a meeting with this party.
The plaintiff has already file a pleading (complaint) with the court. Before the case moves into the other stages, it would be surprising if there is not a settlement between plaintiff and defendants. The settlement will very likely include a non disclosure agreement. If a NDA is in place before the league initiates its investigation, it will be interesting to see how it could proceed. However, the league might investigate the process or lack of process the Argos the team followed.

Counting on the CFL to handle anything correctly is always a bit of a mug's game, but Ambrosie sounds as if they intend to ensure that this is properly investigated. IMO there's little or no chance this investigation was launched without MLSE having been informed. Hopefully the investigator is truly independent and able to report findings without fetter. This has potential to have a pretty severe outcome, especially given how the CFL has come down on players in a few other cases (e.g. Nate Holley). Obviously there has not been a "star" player involved previously, which makes it a bigger challenge for the league to handle. All we can do in the meantime is wait and wonder.

I am shocked by the allegations which have been made against me. I absolutely deny these events and intend to vigorously defend myself and will be seeking the dismissal of the action.

Well, as expected, we got his 100% innocent of everything side and her 100% guilty of everything side of the story. The truth lies somewhere in the middle and let’s see what the finding’s tell us. I’m so sick of everyone jumping to their own conclusion with zero evidence either way. Worst case was our favourite former Ti-Cat blogger than seems obsessed with the Kelly news. Of course he never gave Kelly credit all season and hates him and the Argos. Even suggesting the Muamba retirement was a planned distraction.

Didn't take Kelly long to delete his post, but of course the image of it is easy to find. At minimum, it was incredibly foolish not to disable replies before sending it.

Presumably he jumped the gun on a tweet and was told by counsel to take it down.

Jim Barker was on the “Rod Pederson Show” yesterday and requested to speak about Kelly’s situation. He talked about the similar issue he went through with the Argos in 2011.
Rod Pedersen says he was told to be very careful "tar and feathering" Chad Kelly in all of this.
No clue what that means.
