Next man up for the Argos. I have complete faith the Front Office will find an excellent replacement for the departed Stiggers.
Peters & Stiggers now gone; R. Daniel still un-signed (injury recovery problems ?) = big-time re-build of the Argo secondary on tap. The play of the young Pierce last season was a real positive IMO; lots of new DBs already signed for TC; vet pick-up Jaimie Harry could get a shot at corner, perhaps; also liked the late season FA signing of former Western all-Canadian safety Dan Valente as a good safety prospect / back-up & possible starter down the road.
TC competition there to look forward to - Argos D coaches have a job to do.
Could be he wants to be paid more than the team (or any team, for that matter) wants to pay a guy who has been healthy enough to suit up for 13 of the last 50 regular-season games. I loved his play last season before he got hurt, but football can be a brutal business at times.

The team has a number of experience DBs on the roster. Amos, Metchie, Carnell, Mauger, McFadden, Pierce and Adeleke have all played successfully in the league. Additionally, the team has signed another 14 Canadian and American DBs. Of this group Franklin looked very good in the one game he played last year. Johnson has been on the Argo radar for the last two years and was on their negotiation list. Vincent was an NFL 7th round draft pick in 2021 and has exceptional speed having run a 4.33 for the 40 and has a 10.07 wind assisted 100m.
The team has a lot of potentially talented DBs and I trust the team's coaching staff will be able to find good 5 starters out of that group.
Sad to lose Stiggers but man what an inspiring story. There is one thing I should mention that gets lost in all of the details.
What a testament to the Argos ability at discovering talent. The team saved his career.
I wish there were some system in place similar to soccer where the NFL would at least have to pay CFL teams something for releasing players.
At the end of the day though, this shows that the Argos have a very good system when it comes to finding talent, and I cannot help but continue to feel confidence in the organization's ability to build good teams.
