Still not happy about how the season opener got away from the Argos. Looks like Jyles, who left the Montreal game with a foot injury will be good to go. If the Argos get out to a quick lead, this one could be over early.

Edmonton has an outstanding defence - Matt Dunigan rates it as one of the top 3 in the league along with the Argos' and Lions' - and are solid on special teams. They are well-coached also. We can't forget that the Esks won in B.C. a few weeks ago. I do feel like we are the better team but the Esks have seemingly been playing over their heads for the last year and a half. I guess that at a certain point, we have to consider them to be a genuine contender.

What I am hoping for next Monday is that our defence can force Jyles and the Esks' offence into a lot of mistakes and force at least 3-5 turnovers while our offence is able to protect the ball.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

This is a game we should win. I'd be happy to go into Labour Day with a 5-3 record.

There's always the "player you've cut coming back to haunt you" bit hanging over this game with Boyd but Jyles (from what I've seen) isn't really too hot in the grand scheme of things, only 59% completions at the moment so there's a good chance to stiffle the offence going forward. As Ravi points out above though, they have a good d. It is winnable but it requires the Argos to be more deadly on 2nd down than they were this week. Touchdowns are required to win this, 3 or 4 at least.
I'm new to Canadian football...be gentle. Or flame me, such is life.

Like hockey? Me too! I blog on hockey at Banners On The Wall http://bannersonthewall.wordpress.com (about my team) and Pucks Across the Pond http://www.pucksatp.com about NHL and everywhere else.

Double Blue; in it to win it...or at least beat Hamilton!

If Edmonton tries to run against the Argos, that will play into our strength. Edmonton's D, while good, looked ordinary against a Montreal team that was missing 2 of its star players.

On the flip side, you'd also think that Ricky Ray would want to send a message to his former team after falling short in week one.

I put Jyles in the same catagory as Khari Jones, Kevin Glenn and Darrian Durant. All showing signs of good play but over rated. Jyles would be the worst of that bunch so hopefully we get at least two picks. If our O can get going we should be just fine as I have all the faith in our D and special teams at this point. It would be nice to see us get a return td. Owens seems to have slipped there a bit although he's still doing ok. We should have won the first game. Hopefully Boyds emotions get to him. Hey he's the enemy now.

I wouldn't even rank Jyles with that group of QB's yet. He's flashed potential and had individual good games, but hasn't statistically put together a solid 18-game season like the players you listed.

Milt Stegall gave his 'game flag' to Boyd. Nuff said.

He already haunted us last year while on the Argos with his lackadaisical attitude.

I won't be able to make any comments on this game on the Forum as I am going on a one week Alaska cruise starting from Seattle on Saturday. Does anyone know from past experience whether I can get the game on TV on an American cruise line?

You should be able to catch the game on NBC Sports Network or if you have internet access via the ESPN3 stream.

Good one about Wroten jerrym!!! Area51 could not have said it better himself!!! If you can't catch the game live, VOD on TSN website will have it the next day. Could that work for you? The downside however is trying to avoid the Argo score in Alaska may be a tough challenge.

Won't that be the entertainment on the 40 foot screen on the Lido Deck?

Why is this game on Monday again? Hamilton gets to chill and get ready for Labour Day and we still haven't played. Oh well they might come off the longer layoff sluggish. Hamilton doesn't need any breaks for Labour Day as they always seem to play well on that day.

Wroton won't be back to haunt us as he's been dumped by Edmonton.

Riggs and Pottinger join the 46 today, while Cohen and JFG are both "injured". I haven't seen any indication that the 42 man roster will change.

I don't know what suprises me more, the fact that Wroten was signed in the first place or the fact he was cut....I don't remember being this excited about Monday Night Football since the Argos-Cats Labour Day game was played at night!!!

huge game - the difference between 5-3 heading into labour day and 4-4 is large. I think we get it done - keep their D on the field, move the ball and force Jyles to throw and we should be ok. Will be a good game
