Gee - whoda thunk it? - a run game in the snow and a Canadian RB out of Manitoba would be keys to a win.
Ottawa tried to self-destruct - why was that clown Paden allowed to touch the ball on KO return or not just instructed to fall down? Why not stick to the run game with QB under C instead of fumbling away a shot-gun snap ? Stupid football but they survived.
White, Bowman and Walker not so great in rough, cold conditions ?
LaFrance got dis-respected by that Ottawa coaching staff all season - ran well when called upon after Powell & Vann went down - buy they showed little confidence in him by air-lifting in and handing the starting RB job to mediocre Nic Grigsby (cost them a win with a fumble) and later Moses Madu (ran well for them but did not deserve to get handed the starting job). Just watch now - if Madu is healthy or Vann on the roster - they will get handed the starting RB job in the GC over LaFrance in typical GOB style.
Great game in great CFL playoff weather with great results to make the Grey Cup a better potential game to be.
Just like I had a feeling Henry could do it again coming through, some how I think this time no matter who comes out in the west the RB could be a team of destiny yes even with their poor record.
I don't know if he got disrespected but he seemed to play well every time I saw him.
Justice has been served, the classy team won and as a bonus I don't get to see Reilly or Hervey in their pimp hats.
Never said I was classy LOL
Will be interesting to see the ratings. One was a blowout and the other was a great game but featured the Redblacks who rumour has it don't rate very well. I don't know why.
I really enjoy their style of play.
I still don't think Elizondo is a very good OC.
I don't recall people wanting Chiu to be given the boot, but I do recall someone mentioning that it was no big loss when he left. Ottawa's got a pretty good offensive line, and the players often make the coaches look better than they are. Eg. Delmonaco in Calgary is getting a lot of praise, but in Winnipeg he was given the boot. Considering that Winnipeg's Oline still isn't very good even with Wylie, who some believe was the best oline coach in the CFL - it makes yeah think.
I was probably one of those who either spoke out against Chiu or said "no big loss" when he left. Our o-line has had a number of years where it seemed to get manhandled regularly, and his was one of them. A lot of assistants don't succeed first time out, then develop over time into good coaches.
