And if you can find a plurality of fans of both who consider both MLB and CFL to be fall sports, let us know.
First day of Summer: June 21st
First day of CFL season: June 13th
First day of Fall: September 23rd
Last day of CFL season: November 24th
The CFL season is 3 full months of Summer & just 2 months of Fall.
EDIT: Also less games are played each week in November for the playoffs. The vast majority of CFL games are played in the summer.

Canadian football in general is more of a fall sport. Yes the CFL plays a majority of their games in the summer, but high school and Usport play mostly fall. It is a major reason a good number of CFL followers also call Labour Day the unofficial start to the season. Again Neely, you always look at things from your personal perspective. We are aware that your family doesn't like attending games in the cold because you have mentioned it many time. We get that, but I personally believe your point of view is in the minority here.
It's us vs the rest of the country
I'm only referring to the CFL which is clearly a summer league. My point of view on anything doesn't change that fact.
The season starts after Labour Day saying is nonsense. The season is more than half over by then. A win is worth the same 2 points before Labour Day that it is after Labour Day.
I don’t disagree that a win is worth the same at all times of the season. The saying isn’t about importance. It has more to do with general interest. You can’t just take the point of view of die hard fans like us. Casual fans are what make or break any successful sports league. The buzz is greater in the fall among more people than it is in the summer.
It's us vs the rest of the country
If that's the case then why does attendance start declining after Labour Day?

OK, I will try this one more time. Despite the fact that most games are played in the summer, I believe the majority of individuals who are aware of Canadian football view it as a fall sport, not a summer sport. That's probably because football in the U.S. is played mostly in the fall, and to a lesser extent because Canadian football was played mostly in the fall until the 1960s. There is no way to prove this hypothesis, but it's what I believe. Clearly you view the CFL as a summer sport, and I assume you think others do as well although I don't recall you offering an opinion on how the sport is perceived generally. It's a largely pointless debate at the moment, but if the league moves to play more games in the spring and fewer in the fall (as seems possible), IMO it will hurt attendance in eastern markets, at least. Clearly you feel otherwise.

Neely you have selected data from one of the worst regular seasons in Argonaut history in an attempt to prove your point.
The Argos were pretty much toast in September after being swept by Hamilton so no wonder attendance declined.
I’ve never considered the CFL a summer league, football in general is a fall sport.
I prefer outdoor fall football as the cooler weather suits me better but I show up either way.

Thanks Ron.
My main point here is that I enjoy fall football games more than I do summer games, much prefer cool to cold weather than 35 Celsius steambath games that tend to be the norm in July and August but I still enjoy the games.
I believe Paul Woods is correct in his assertion that a major shift in the schedule timeline would hurt attendance much more than it would help, I also concur that this whole debate is largely pointless.
