Today is a huge day. If MBT gets protection from his O-Line ... we know that the O-Line hates Franklin. If MBT gets smashed we know the line just sucks.

One dude that will be motivated today is Duron Carter

Do people still think Chamblin is a good coach ? Because the last 50 seconds was a collection of the dumbest coaching decisions I've ever seen.

Is Trestman still running the offence ? Pretty much zero run game, and Bethel-Thompson only seems to be able to run the high percentage BS against a horrible Rich Stubler defence.

Two bad teams running Trestman styled offences = yet another boring CFL game.

Bah...at least they were in this game and made it entertaining.

Drew Brown needed to be better today. The missed point after wasn't his fault but he shouldn't have missed the earlier field goal. Is he good enough? I think that's 2 easier misses in 3 games. De La Haye is off on vacation right now too and so I don't know how committed he is to potentially take over.

Definitely some questionable coaching decisions. Not going for it on 3rd and short on the first possession, while the safe choice, meant the Argos started with a 2 and out (again) but fair enough, Chamblin was being conservative but the team needs to be more aggressive in all phases and that could've set the tone. Then later, going for it on 3rd and 2 with 5 mins left when they could've picked up the field goal, get the stop, and then the TD would've won.

The bizarre decisions were the short kickoff and deciding on not having a guy back to receive or kick out if they missed.

MBT did fairly well but whoever's back there needs to get the ball to Walker and Green more often.

Good to see the D-Line get lots of pressure on Reilly.

I like De La Haye's raw potential and his video content and I thought Brown cost them the game so I want to see what he can do in the lineup but I wonder what the lockeroom thinks of him. He's probably more committed to Youtube than actual football. I don't think the team needs to tell him to stop posting but I can see it rubbing people the wrong way, especially if he's on holidays.

I'm not sure the short kick was planned. I thought it was just a botched kick by Brown.

When Ray was injured, Green was ignored. Last year especially, Green was neglected a lot by MBT and i'm seeing the same with Walker. With the line collapsing and with MBT not having the best deep throw, they're taking Walker out of the offense before the defense even has a chance to shut him down. Walker is playing with backup QBs. Frustrating!

I'll have more to say tomorrow but it is worth noting that Chamblin said after the game that Brown was under instructions to kick off deep, and "mis-hit" it. That was the most egregious of four special teams mistakes that essentially cost us the game.

Oh, and I don't know if I have ever seen an Argo as pissed off as Armanti Edwards was during the fourth quarter. Positively seething on the sideline, throwing his helmet when coming off the field, refusing to talk to his teammates. This looks to me like an explosion waiting to happen.

This happened after the 3rd down turnover when Wilder was short.

    To summarize:

    - two dropped INTs, I know they were a bit more circus plays but...
    - the one INT by Ford gets returned to great field position and MBT throws an INT
    - the INT kicker misses a FG and does I don't know the fuck what on the kickoff
    - the QB throws for 300+ yards and offence only puts 12 points on the board
    - the GWG is called offside and the next kick misses only for...I bet the 1953-1981 Argos never even lost in that fashion
    - we are paying a guy $275,000 to catch the football, but they either cannot get him the ball or...

If it weren't for the coaching cap, and knowing his history, I cannot see Popp keeping Chamblin around but...CC might be a fine DC, but as a HC he leaves a lot to be desired.

    A few observations:
. Webster was replaced by Boateng who played the wide side corner. He played quite well other than the soft interception that he dropped.
. Brown lost this game with his missed FG and the flubbed kick off with 40 secs left in the game.
. Rainey missed stepped on the last second missed FG when he touched the line in the end zone. However his kick return for a TD was a beauty to behold so he shouldn't feel too badly about his performance tonight.
. MBT played a very good first quarter and a great last 2 minute drive.
. The LB's had a better game and the defensive line played well especially Lemon and Laing.
. In the last drive Wilder was outstanding.
. Beats me why the are paying Walker all this money and then don't target him very often. Strange.

It continued for at least two more possessions after that, IIRC.

    Chamblin should be fired immediately.

Worst bit of coaching I have seen in many years. Pure incompetence. Disgraceful. Embarrassing.

Great comeback to tie the game and then give it away.

So, why exactly did we bother signing Derel Walker? MBT seemed to have a little more time this game, yet Walker was only targeted 3 times, I think.

On a positive note, they were in this one and showed a lot of fight. Except for a couple of screw ups by the kicker and a few odd calls by the OC, they could have easily won. That is good. Some progress...here's hoping they catch one of these western teams napping in the next few weeks.
