He's signed Vince Young apparently.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
TBH, I'm a little surprised that Young is actually coming up here.
Chris Jones is becoming somewhat of a joke IMO. Or an even bigger joke if you've always disliked him.
I never understood why Jones is getting heat for this signing. What's the worst that can happen? He doesn't make the team. If OTOH, he turns out to be a perfect CFL QB, it can be the move of the decade. Honestly, I think deep down, too many insecure people love it when a one time big name NFLer comes up here and fails.
It's us vs the rest of the country
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Normally I would agree with this.
However, since Jones has been given authority first as a head coach and now as a head coach and general manager, he has shown himself to be absurdly radical (not shaking hands with opposing head coaches after games, skipping attending the national anthem), and now imo erratic and organizationally challenged (over the limit rosters, many questionable roster moves).
He smacks of desperation and disorganization.
A joke seems applicable to him I believe.
My concerns do not arise from Young being a former NFLer. After winning offensive rookie of the year in his first season and peaking at 2500+ yards in his second year, his passing stats were pretty much downhill. His rushing stats peaked in his rookie year and then began a more or less steady decline. No doubt injuries played a major role in this as he averaged 7.5 games a season over his last four years and his rushes per game dropped from 6 in his first two seasons to 3 in his final four years, which also suggests increasing fragility.
My concerns also come from not having played a regular season game since 2011, from lasting only 11 days in TC with Cleveland in his last attempt to make an NFL roster in 2014, from filling Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2014 (which suggests he may be desperate to make money anyway that he can rather than be returning to the game because of his love of the game as he alleges), from his 2016 DUI arrest suggesting that he still has problems with life outside of football that could affect his performance, and from the fact that at the signing interview in which he said, as stated in the video below, that he began training for his return to football in February.
Could he become a successful CFL QB? Possibly and I wish him luck. However, there are a lot of question marks that suggest that Jones is playing with a lot of red flags already on this field of play.
It could also lead to Jones, consciously or unconsciously, possibly leaning towards keeping Young around even if the evidence piles up that he is not up to the job because of the questions this would raise about his judgement of trading Durant for very little and signing Young. It would be far from the first time that this has happened in sport. For example, Barker didn't get rid of Cleo Lemon until he insult the fans, despite growing evidence that he was not the Argo's saviour.

And his agent Leigh Steinberg attended. Leigh widely regarded as the agent the movie "Jerry McGuire" was based on. One of my favourite movie. Might need to watch that movie again.
