Neat. Did Rico Murray just become a DB?

If Marcus comes in at his NFL weight of 220, maybe he can play MLB and leave Murray on the outside with Venable. I never was too impressed with McFadden and they apparently have only two other MLB''s in camp, Quayshawn Nealy at 6'1 225 out of Georgia Tech and Terrance Plummer 6'1 240 out of Central Florida. I would think the Trestman would want to start as many veterans as possible on defense and then work the rookies in as they develop.

Big jump / asking a lot, for a college ball/NFL safety with some CFL OLB experience to all of a sudden be able to play MLB at the CFL level IMO.

Ball was flat out better than either of Murray or Sears as a CFL D play-maker in his Argo days; so unless he cannot regain that old form ( perhaps due to NFLitis or whatever Ravi calls it), he should be able to claim a spot on D - unless both he & Venable are considered Will OLBs only - did Ball play Sam OLB on the Argo GC team? Rather see one or both of Murray & Sears line-up in the D-backfield, even just for the CFL experience they bring. The now CFL typical, standard D approach to have the so-called Sam OLB be just a cover guy who turns his back and chases a receiver most to the time is dumb-@$$, IMO. Venable, Ball, Murray and Sears in the back 7 = I like the sound of play-making, big hitter types there.
