Argos Season Ticket Holder: 2010 - 2014 & 2016 - Present
Grey Cups Attended: 2012, 2016
Current Seats Location: Section 227
Times 2. Can't get the tune out of my head now, lol.
As BATKINSON001 will be downloading the audio to YouTube, I won't go into detail, but overall thought it was a great event. Well attended and the team provided food and non-alcoholic beverages. It was great to see that S.J. was there to announce his re-signing. I am very impressed with Commissioner Ambrosie. He is thoughtful, very well spoken, and has all the credibility in the world from having been a player, union exec and now a successful businessman. The CFL is in good hands under his stewardship.
It was good to hear that the CFL is going to a "crew" concept for officiating and the new head of officiating (can't remember his name) sounds like he will make positive changes. I think Ambrosie is genuine in wanting to work with the players association to improve things for all stakeholders once the CBA negotiations get underway. The contract issues recently in the media were certainly top of mind, as was broadcasting and growing the game.

Thank you for posting. Out of curiosity who was there from the business side of the Argos. Manning, Copeland, Last man, others?

FTR, Michael Copeland's LinkedIn profile now describes him (rather ungrammatically) as "Leadership Team at MLSE." So his involvement with the Argos may now be limited to transition period. Sara Moore's profile still identifies her as "SVP Business Operations and COO Grey Cup Festival at Toronto Argonauts Football Club" but is way out of date -- clearly written BEFORE the 2016 Grey Cup.

I did a ctrl + F on the Argos front office staff here: https://www.argonauts.ca/front-offic...ll-operations/ and was unable to find either Copeland or Moore listed.

Given that the 2016 GC ended over 14 months ago and Sara never updated the public facing website as to what she does with the team it only reflects the care she must of put into the rest of her duties with the team. The door can't hit her fast enough on the way out for my liking.
GO ARGOS!!!
In general don't you think someone at the Argos in the last 14 months could have glanced at their website and said maybe we should update it. It is a little thing, but when the little things aren't being done we know the big things aren't either. Hence no increase in attendance last season even though the team went from worst to first.

It's also not a given that senior management of corporations manage their own social media. Particularly when you have a large department of people whose jobs are specifically dedicated to social media.

Fantastic to see the number of fans interested in the Argos.
Great town hall with @TorontoArgos fans tonight!

Thank you for this, great job. Special ups to the guy who made the great plea to get the Grey Cup on OTA TV. Kudos to you sir and to the crowd for supporting him.
One guy asked a brilliant question about being a CFL preferred customer and STHs getting a discount at other stadiums.
I thought it was the Argo website that was being discussed. I am being too critical if all we are talking about is her linked in page. My disappointment in how they have failed to move the needle in generating more fans and what I see as taking advantage of existing fans makes me rush to judgement. I'm glad they are turning the page at the executive level and my hope is that Pinball moves from advisor to CEO. His passion is what is needed to move the needle in this city.
GO ARGOS!!!
