According to the Bleacher Report he wowed the scouts in his senior year and in the East-West Shrine game.

In his senior year he was the University of Washington's Defensive Player of the Year while playing with a sports hernia injury. You can't fail to be impressed by his senior year highlight video. There is one fly in the ointment, however --in 2019 he was signed by Montreal but released the same day---would love to know what that was all about.

Choosing Feeney was a bit of a flyer but thought his athletic ability made it a risk worth taking.

Impressive resume for sure; but no way he is going to play S-OLB (which is just a glorified DB in today's CFL); so - unless Judge could play S-OLB (and he was W-OLB with the Riders) ... = ?

Their is a chance, Erik Harris was 225lbs, when he played SLB for the Ti-Cats. It's not the norm in today's game, but it does happen.

That's a pretty good case. Who knows what will happen in camp, but if he has coverage skills I hope he gets a shot at SAM.

Martavis Bryant, a former NFL fourth rounder who signed with the Argos in January, has signed with the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League, which plays until the end of August.

In the article, Bryant says he appreciates playing for the Pirates "in preparation of the CFL season". So it appears, he is still planning to play for the Argos this season.

Why would the Argos allow him to sign there and risk injury ?

I'll be honest. Given the circumstances, I have no issues with unknown players continuing to play and perhaps keep in shape, or return to shape in an indoor league.

Karlos Williams has retired. I guess this explains why the team signed some additional RBs. It's a shame, though; he's still young and I still thought he was the odds-on favourite to start at RB.

Not surprised, these players can only wait so long before they need to move on and start earning some cash.

In addition to your synopsis, Karlos had not played in a game for 5 years. Thats an eternity. In closing, I wish to thank Mr. Williams for his contributions as a member of the Toronto Argonauts football team and wish him well in his future endeavours.

I suspect Williams won't be the last highly rated former NFL player not arriving at training camp. As Wobbler stated, it was probably one of the reasons the team signed additional American RB's Still think Quellette, is one we should keep an eye on.

The Argos signed the #2 overall 2020 draft pick, WR Dejon Brissett on Wednesday. Glad to see they got such a talented receiver on board.

The Argos have signed four more 2020 and 2021 draftees.

The Toronto Argonauts announced today they have signed three Canadians from their 2021 CFL Draft class and one from their 2020 class; WR Tommy Nield, LB Trevor Hoyte, DB Josh Hagerty and OL Dylan Giffen (2020).

    Nield
, 6’3 and 203lbs, was selected by Toronto in the fourth-round (30th overall) and played three seasons at receiver at McMaster University (2017-2019), where in 2019 he caught 48 passes for 688 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games, including playoffs. The Guelph native hauled in 28 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns in 2018 after posting 26 catches for 359 yards and a score in 2017.

    Hoyte
, 6’2 and 218lbs, was the Argos second pick in the fourth-round (33rd overall) and played his University football at Carleton University where he was a 2019 OUA First Team All-Star after tallying 35.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for the Ravens. Born in Gatineau, Quebec, Hoyte was a three-time Academic All-Canadian and played alongside Argos 2020 draftee Jack Cassar at Carleton.

    Hagerty
, 6’3 and 200lbs, was chosen by Toronto in the sixth-round (47th overall) and played football at the University of Saskatchewan where he notched 19.5 tackles and three interceptions in 2019. The Regina native also played Under-18 football for Team Canada.

    Giffen
, 6’8 and 335lbs, was picked in the third-round of the 2020 CFL Draft (28th overall) and spent five years at Western University, playing 26 games for the Mustangs. The Strathroy, Ontario native was a 2018 and 2019 OUA All-Star and played a key role in helping Western win the 2017 Vanier Cup. Giffen is a former member of Team Ontario and Team Canada.

Of the four draftees just signed, I think Griffen could be the best prospect bet.

Hagerty has best fit in area of need (safety prospect) IMO; all 3 others join crowded position groups for the Argos; all are solid prospect though IMO = Canadian talent across the CFL is very strong, in my books.

Looks like the argos have quite a speedster in LB Jordan Moore.

The six-foot-three, 225-pound man in the middle of the defence secured his chance to vie for an Olympic berth on June 26 in Eugene, Oregon with a time of 13.4 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles, with at least two meets left to hone that time. He has a ways to go to secure his trip to Japan but Moore has high expectations.

“I may run a 13.3, I may run a 13.5 in the prelims, but I know once I come to those finals, I know the winner of that race is going to run a 13-flat or a 13.1 to go to Tokyo. A lot of those guys I raced in college and I beat, I think my chances are good,” he told Mike Hogan of Argonauts.ca. “The way I train, I’m naturally gifted at being a hurdler, my speed is way better than it’s ever been and I have great coaches and great doctors around me. I’m training with [2004 long jump] gold medalist Dwight Phillips and my training partner Marquise Goodwin from the Chicago Bears.”

Moore was acquired by the Argos in a trade earlier this offseason.
The now 27-year-old played five games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last season, recording five defensive tackles and four special teams tackles.

Moore first earned his reputation as a top hurdler while at Texas Christian University, where he played receiver and running back on the football team. He became a Big 12 champion in the 110 meter outdoor hurdles and 60 meter indoor hurdles, before transferring to LSU where he was twice named an All-American. The Atlanta native returned to the football field in 2016 after transferring again to the University of Texas at San Antonio, tallying 49 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in 13 games as a safety. He earned contracts with the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent before finding a home at linebacker in the CFL.

Moore’s linebacker frame is an oddity in the track and field world, but it has never held him back before.

“What most people didn’t know is I ran at 225. When I won the SEC championship outdoors, I weighed in at 227. When I won indoors in the SEC championship, I was maybe 214, 215, but I almost starved myself to get there,” Moore said.
“I know in order for me to be elite and to do what I want to do with this small opportunity that I do have left to run track at this high of a level, I think I want to be 217, 215 in the race. I know for football I’ll be back at 235, 240.”

The Argos have signed their 2021 first round (#7 overall ) draft pick, OL Peter Nicastro.

Nicastro, 6’2 and 305lbs, played three seasons at the University of Calgary (2017-2019) and was named a Canada West All-Star at guard in 2019, helping the Dinos win the Vanier cup that same season. The Calgary native played 20 games in his career at UC, including all eight regular season games in each of his last two seasons.

The Argonauts also announced the release of American OL Norman Price and Canadian LB Paul Kozachuk.
