"Canadian kicker Ronnie Pfeffer has signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Argonauts, per sources.
Pfeffer worked out and had offers from both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto."

Perhaps, but you'll never get a confirmation on that. The offer from Hamilton may have been the tryout offer, and not an actual contract offer. I just can't believe any player would woulld purposely choose to sign a contract where he has less of an opportunity of winning a starting position. Not everything on 3 down nation is iron clad fact.
It's us vs the rest of the country
I'm not a big Pfeffer fan, but having available as an emergency backup would be useful assuming we are not giving up a spot on the game roster.
"Meanwhile, Canadian kicker Ronnie Pfeffer, who was signed this week, will get a chance to play in the second half of Friday’s game. He has a tough assignment trying to unseat the incumbent, Lirim Hajrullahu, and the team won’t carry two kickers during the regular season."

He had a rough one today. It looks like he hasn't really improved in the last 2 years, but then again he hasn't had consistent game action...it's the cart before the horse theory in his case. It's true he hasn't played enough in game situations, but he has to play well when he is given the shot and did not exactly do that today. You never know when you might need a kicker though. It's that precarious a position.
I still think he's not a bad punter (I know Angelo, ok lol). I have only really seen him struggle with FGs lately.
He was 0/2 on FG's tonight. One miss was from 38 and the other from 48. One attempt was into wind and the other was not. He technically outpunted Lirim, but Lirim still averaged 45 yards which is very good. #70's job is safe.

LH's job was always safe. At this point I think the Argos won't waste a PR spot on Pfeffer (too many other guys who need to be kept around) but will keep him on speed dial in case of emergency.

Pfeffer needs reps, the talent is there IMO, but with Hajrullahu around I doubt he gets any, and that's okay with me.
Good "problem" to have IMO.
The Stamps have done quite well with both Paredes and Mavers ..... If LH and RP could do the same , I'm okay with that . ... At least special teams will always have a kicker if one of the two go down. ....stamps aren't too bad of a team to emulate.
So Pfeffer is not cut. What is the plan here, are we going with a place kicker and punter come game day? Back to Ilesic and Chomyc days? I believe that is the last time we had a kicking duo.
CFL alive and well all others can go to Hell!
