I admire Kackert's determination too. However, I fear he may end up with injury-related problems that last the rest of his life.

    Day 1 observations:

    - Ricky Ray's arm looks great. Much much better than last season.
    - Watman got majority of reps at C. I believe GVR was at guard, CVZ at tackle (someone please confirm)
    - Marshall McFadden as #1 middle linebacker alongside Raymond and Greenwood
    - Kilgore could very well be #2, Fajardo needs more time. McPherson is McPherson
    - Durie looked limited in scrimmage, Coombs took majority of reps near the end
    - Bradfield is quick, so is Nieuswesteeg
    - Big 3 are safe, Spencer didn't impress me much. Christion Jones, Bates and Ambles looked good. So did Noel (who returned punts with Nieuwesteeg)
    - Not sold on Jerald Brown, got beat on 1v1s
    - Hirallujah no problems at punting. I did not see any other kicks done. Medeiros had a strong leg but not as consistent.
    - Milanovich isn't as boring as you think and Ricky Ray is still Captain Checkdown.
    - D-Line as expected: Foley-Bulcke-Hall-Hickman
    - Jefferson and Wylie did not practice. Jones had a cast on and just walked around.
    - Really liked the agressiveness from Hawkins.
    - I think Da'Rick Rogers was a no show.

Thanks for the detailed information. It's good to hear Ricky looks great. Your comments on Durie do increase my already existing concerns about how healthy he will be. As to whether Milanovich is boring, I'll reserve judgment on that.

Thanks Gabe. Was Tracey Robertson there? He had such a strange 2015 I'm not sure what (if anything) to expect from him.

Jefferson is late to camp because of a flight delay, according to Zicarelli.

Robertson was in uniform today, hopefully recovered from his lengthy injury that he suffered last season (same injury that Kyle Moore suffered a year earlier). Kackert looked good with some nice catches as well. Kilgore has an odd looking release. Going to be some tough decisions when it comes to the receivers as it appears to be a lot of talent there.

Jefferson was there today, but didn't practice.

Make of this what you will, but received a Twitter DM from the Argos today (to the @argofans account) requesting that I try to avoid tweeting anything pertaining to the depth chart (the way players are lining up, etc.) as they somehow feel it will give a "competitive advantage" to opponents. They didn't really mention anything about the site itself. It opens up a can of worms for us as the team has never approached us about anything written on our platforms and the fact that we aren't really a media outlet, but are independent of the team.

I'm not 100% sure yet how to handle this, but if anyone has any advice please PM me

Tricky situation IMO, but Herb Zurkowsky has been tweeting out Montreal's lineup this training camp, so I don't see the issue. IMO teams are getting way too sensitive about this type of crap. Maybe if they actually provided the information themselves - others wouldn't have to. Sorry that my little rant didn't have any advice Don Argo.

No, I agree. Teams are now controlling what is reported. No wonder I rarely see any live tweets from media anymore. Scianetti too busy tweeting an update on his shoes. It is tricky situation though.

Zurkowsky is a member of the media and IMO there is a difference. The challenge is that Argofans is not what you would call traditional media, but it is a site that also wants to maintain independence from the team. Remember, that is part of the reason that the forum separated from FOA in 2011.

I understand that, but the only difference I see is that the team "gave" permission to the media outlet to release the information. As I said before - teams are getting way too sensitive. How are the line-ups and depth charts on day 1 of training camp going to help Hamilton beat us in week 1 ?

Ya really, Hamilton will know the depth chart come week one and it will look different than it is now. Hamilton could go check out the Argos camp and get a better detailed report by themselves if they wanted to. Interesting that some from the Argos camp read this forum.

Only idea that has come to mind in terms of advice is maybe speak with Barker or Milanovich.

I doubt that on Day 1 of training camp that they were the ones who precipitated the message and even if they were, getting access to them would probably be virtually impossible. That's why teams have PR departments.

I liked Kilgore better than Fajardo FWIW, but it's too early to make any solid conclusions about either one.
