I don't think anyone would disagree that the best three teams right now are all in the West.

As for schedules, every team in the East has at least three games left vs the West. It's possible 8-10 might actually win the division if the West continues to dominate, though I think it will be 9-9 since every East team has a game left vs the Riders.

Who knows if we could even afford Sinkfield. Willy's contract is pretty hefty.

I think we released Henry Josey yesterday. He was taken off the IR and deleted, but not added to the inactive list.

Also, McFadden was taken off the 6 game so there's a chance we'll have an actual MLB on Friday.

Isn't Ray on the IR? Plus a lot of Ray's contact is incentive based and if he's not playing he won't be making those incentives / bonuses.

Josh Bourke has been six-gamed as well. Will Bourke stay on the six-game list and then be released following the season?

You have to be on the six-game for a full six games to have cap relief; we don't know yet whether he will last through a full cycle. Even if he does, we are paying a lot of QBs at the moment and even if some of it is outside the cap, it's still real dollars being paid by the team with the lowest attendance in the league. I think we fans sometimes assume that anything outside the cap is "free money" to be spent gaining a competitive advantage, but I imagine Barker has a real salary budget that he has to meet irrespective of the cap.

    Great question. Sure seems possible.

We signed NAT OL Joe Circelli (who spent most of 2015 on our PR) to the PR yesterday.

Rankin has been placed on the 6 game IR (which can't be good news for our ever-changing secondary) and Bradfield has been promoted from the PR, presumably to help on special teams.

Four new faces on the PR today:

TOR ADD INT Jimmy HALL (LB) Northwestern
TOR ADD INT Chuck JACOBS (WR) Utah State
TOR ADD INT Jameon LEWIS (WR) Mississippi State
TOR ADD INT Joseph MORGAN (WR) Walsh University

Morgan has/had impressive speed, and actually played a fair bit for the Saints back in 2012.

Why the urge for Barker to sign 3 receivers?? Oh....never mind. Looks like Lewis was a KR in college, team needs help there as well.

Yeah, but he's not fast. His claim to fame is throwing TD passes on trick plays in college. That's fun, but probably a bit too specialized.

Not that this means anything, but I've never heard of any of these guys.

All 4 of the new faces are a bit of a crap shoot for various reasons but Jimmy Hall could be a bit of a find. He is a tweener for the NFL--not really a LB'er or free safety. However, he is a perfect fit for playing LB in the CFL--same physical attributes as Elimimian. Good size( 6 1, 228), strong (24 reps) and very fast (4.44). The tape measure and stopwatch, never tell for sure, how well a player will pan out but he certainly has the size and athletic ability to play in this league. Not saying he will be another Elimimian but it could be interesting to follow his progress.

I really like Jimmy Hall's singing when he was with Wet Willie. He also sang some on the Jeff Beck album "Flash"; and I got to see him sing live with the band The Nighthawks way back at The Rainbow here in Ottawa. ;o)

And Byron Archambault is a big linebacker who led all of the CFL Combine in BOTH bench reps and shuttle run (side to side quickness/ agility) a couple of years back - unprecedented i think to be the best at both. And Archambault has sat on either the bench or PR or IR for Kenty who drafted him for a couple of seasons now. Sometimes, being big & athletic might not mean you will get a shot.

OV - Archambault was playing special teams until he tore his ACL halfway through his rookie season. When he's healthy I expect he'll be back on specials - the Cats can use help with that unit. From there we'll see if he can become a starter like Eiben or a special teams fixture like Yurichuk.

Hopefully, there are a couple of good Apples out of these recent additions. History shows that the guys brought in this time of the season are auditioning for next year's training camp, unless they have had CFL experience. But some of the WR's might get some game time.
As Shatto has pointed out LBer Jimmy Hall at 6'1 228 4.4 speed may have a chance to be a good CFL player, if he has a nose for the Ball.

Troy Davis has already been added to the 6 game injured list according to the Argo website. Hope he recovers soon.
