I've been hard on the secondary, but I really don't know if it's actually them, the lack of a pass rush, or the scheme.

Probably the scheme... you give the opposing O 5-10 yd per play to catch a ball they're most likely going to make that catch unless the ball is floated in there

I think both are true Angelo.
I’ve also never seen a defence so soft on second and long situations.

I think it is the scheme as well, which is affecting the pass rush too.

Whether we like it or not, however, I doubt Trestman is going to cut Mike Archer loose so I just thought they'd try a few different pieces back there just to see...

But in theory, giving a cushion like that should make it easier to stop the run, because you are coming downhill. I agree with Argo57, whereas scheme has something to do with it, but the players also have to be held accountable. Giving such a cushion really does no good when the secondary can't win a 50/50 ball either.

I like how opposing offences attack the Argo defence in those situations.

I think this one will be closer, but I don't see any reason to expect a win.

So, who will gain more yards this game, the Argos offense or Andrew Harris?

Harris was the one last week.

Yes, I'd be very surprised to see the Argos win this game.

You know as well as I do, AV, that it all starts up front on defence. The Argos simply haven't been getting pressure from their front four and that needs to change. We can't easily evaluate the secondary until or unless we start to see pressure again from the front four. The Argos tied the Stamps in sacks just last season so hopefully they can return to form soon.

Who is to say though that the scheme isn't affecting both the front four and the secondary?

Would be nice not to fall behind early....they started well at home against Edmonton and were able to escape with their sole victory.
