IMO they cannot wait until 2022. The CFL could in all reality be folded by then. This league has never kept up with the current times in any way ever. They have already lost thousands of cable cutters and will continue to do so. Exactly the CFL has the oldest fans and if they don't do something to change that ASAP the league will be gone in the very near future. Don't kid yourself TSN doesn't get millions of viewers when FOX and CNN can't even get that on a average night. When minimum wage goes up in the next couple of years these problems with the Argos and this league will escalate even more. The average family can't even afford to go to the movies more than 1 time per month. This league is the slowest adapting league out of all professional sports.

LMOL ... TSN just gave ottawa senators 30 million a year for NHL rights to 60 games, most of which don't crack 100,000. At only $40m/year, CFL is TSNs main money maker and a year ago extended the CFL deal for more $ ... a week after shaw (global which is Bell's key competitor in TV) became the grey cups key sponsor. CFL is a tent pole for TSN along with its Hockey Canada deal, it keeps people from cord-cutting and allows them to continue to increase fees

Argos negativity needs to stop as it is hurting the brand. Always 3 things in the news - attendance - loosing money - TV viewership. This agenda is pushed by Rogers and all of their followers. Constantly! Those things must be solved before moving to the next steps. If your an owner you can either accept the losses or sponsor the losses and that's 1 of the issues solved. Either way, same money. One is positive, one is negative. Rogers knows a damaged brand helps BJ's and Rogers bottom line. TSN/Bell and TSN radio in this city does not!!!!!!! The players can fix the TV numbers by winning and looking like a good football team, it will also help in attendance. Then all the other ideas can be brought forward and we have a chance of success.

I hate Rogers and the Blue Jays but have to say that Rogers promotes that team like crazy. Can you imagine Bell doing that with the Argos? Why can't they have every second ad on TSN4 - the southern Ontario TSN feed - be an Argos ad like Rogers does with the Jays (okay, I may be exaggerating about every 2nd ad but you get my point)? How about flooding the marketplace with Bell/Argos pocket schedules? How about more explicit tie-ins between Bell and the Argos in the GTA like we see between Rogers and the Jays? The most surprising thing I have seen since Bell took over part-ownership of the Argos is that we haven't seen those kinds of promotions. I really thought we would when they bought the franchise. However, unless you follow the CFL at all, would you even know that Bell is a 50% owner of the Argos? You sure as hell can't escape knowing that Rogers owns the Jays.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force

It has been several years since I have seen pocket Argos schedules anywhere, since they were given to Braley after the 2009 season. The only place I ever saw them was at a oshawa pizza pizza.

There's one difference. Because the Jays are the only mlb team in Canada, Rogers can promote the Jays nationally and attach their name to them. Because Bell is the broadcaster for the CFL it's way more difficult for them to target only the Toronto market with their branding, in the same way that Rogers is able to target Canada. Not impossible, but much more difficult, with the potential of stepping on many toes.
