Hardly a reputable source: a fan twitter account with 32 followers.
I expect Manziel to sign, but gonna need more than this to make me think it's imminent.

Ticat’s just confirmed they’ve made a qualifying offer and continue to negotiate.

If they didn't make an offer today, he would have to be removed from the Ti-Cats neg list.
I think Montreal makes more sense for him,
The soap opera continues, sit back and enjoy the show!
Don’t know why but I’m thrilled with how the negotiations seem to be going for Austin and the gang!😛

Tiger-Cats made two errors. One is June Jones saying Manziel would be the best player ever to play in the #CFL Second is letting Manziel talk with other teams which I’m hearing included the Alouettes who were willing to give Manziel close to what he’s asking for.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Manziel in Montreal, even less shocked that the Wetenhall's and Kavis maybe willing to overpay. I hope the Ticats don't let this drag out, move on and see if Masoli really is a starter.
This whole scenario is becoming more of a bother than anything else. It's got to be the reason the Cats are shopping him. There's no harm in signing him to a respectful contract and seeing how he does in camp. He wants $500G's to show up! As mentioned on the 1150 radio, these negotiations happen all the time where the agent wants the sky and the team offers peanuts, we just don't hear about it unlike TMZ Manziel. His agent is putting out statements and he's twittering, LOL!
The problem I see with Manziel, he's unlikely to dominate the league in his first season (Doug Flutie, yada, yada). So, why give him starters money? Even if he finds limited success, he'll use that to bolt to the NFL for a backup role. Seems like a huge waste of time and money. He's not one of those players who will take a good salary and CFL career. Sign him for two years, he's still gone after one, which brings me to my next point.
I have to agree with his agent that CFL negotiation lists are archaic. Teams can almost hold a player hostage when they want to join the league, yet when they get an NFL offer, they’re allowed to leave, no problem despite any contract. Manziel is unemployed, a free agent. He should be able to be employed with whom ever wants to pay him. I'm surprised that an agreement like this is allowed with Canada's Labour laws, which differ drastically from the States, and the leagues player Union.

It's a negotiating ploy plain and simple (however misguided) and the over-the-top sensibility of CFL fans (and Manziel's previous history) created the reaction that it did.

Tbh, I do see Manziel's agent's point though. Will he get Zach type of money or has even even earned it ? No, but can't deny that Manziel isn't your typical former NFL or Collegiate player, he's a heavily talked about star that will sell tickets, me4ch and increase the CFL interest down South.
I think one of two things will happen - either he signs with the Ticats and starts at least one game by 2/3's of the season or he's traded to Montreal and becomes their #1 right out of training camp.

Austin doesn't seem bothered by what's been said and going on. It'll be interesting to see how this all unfolds, and I could see Manziel end up in Montreal, but I could still see him end in Hamilton. Interesting times.
