Great day in Toronto and a huge day in Calgary as both of their rivals are knocked out. Great weekend as all my teams won. Argonauts, Vikings, Wolverines and Stamps.

Calgary/BC will be a much better West Final than Sask/BC would have been IMO. I think that the Lions would have won easily in the latter case but it is a toss-up against the Stamps.

I wonder what will become of that headshot on Tate. Glad it didn't rattle him much as he joked about it at the half. Great finish, as I was thinking Calgary only had time for a field goal push.

I thought that Tate was joking but apparently it came out after the game that he wasn't and that he indeed does not remember much of the first half. He claims that he did not suffer a concussion though. :ohno:

Suspension and fine I hope. He did that on purpose.

He ducked his head right into Tates face. Tate is saying he doesn't remember the first half. He better shut up or he'll be getting the Stamps medical staff in some serious hot water.

The Stamps' medical staff may have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. When you see your QB holding his head after a hit like that, perhaps running the concussion protocol on him to be safe isn't a bad idea.

true. but having the argos in the grey cup now becomes their plan B. Dunno if many montrealers would make the trek to Toronto and shell out the dough the riders would have to see their team.

What consequences would the Stampeders be looking at if it is determined that Tate had a concussion and this protocol wasn't implemented?

I felt bad for the DB #30 who let his man streak down the sideline for the game winning TD...

Looked like he bit hard on the pump fake.

That implies they care about the athlete and not see him as a piece of meat commodity.

I don`t know what their forum is saying but after the game everyone who called in, phoned to complain about Darian Durant.

Are you serious? Durant played a great game IMO, and had the team in position to win. How a DB can fall for a pump and go with less than 30 seconds left is just mind boggling.

Most of the Grey Cups that the Als have played in have been out west. I would expect a healthy contingent of Montrealers if the Als make it to the big game but hopefully the Argos will make this moot.

Anyone have any thoughts for the drop in attendance up in Calgary this year? Playoff game against the Riders gets 30K? I think a few years ago every time Sask and Calgary met in Calgary the game was sold out.

Not really sure on this one. Even the regular season game between the two teams in Calgary this past summer drew 32k instead of what had become a usual sellout. The only explanation I can come up with is that some Rider fans who might be inclined to travel with their team had not totally come back onto the bandwagon this year after their disastrous season last year.

Pretty nasty snowstorm in the prairies may have discouraged a few from making the trip from SK. There are also some rumblings that more and more Calgarian's no longer see McMahon as a worthy venue.

For all the grief that we get from the west for our attendance problems it isn't as if the Eskimos are drawing 55k at Commonwealth anymore or the Stamps are drawing 37k.

Disagree with you 100%. They are considered to be the biggest tools on the planet and they are worthy of the title. ;)

Calgary is down 2K from both 2011 and 2010, and down about 8K from 2009 and down 4K from 2008. This is the first year the Stamps averaged under 30K since 1997.

Kind of strange. I would understand if they sucked, but they had arguably the 2nd best team in the league. ??

I agree that it is strange but I am not too concerned when I recall what they were drawing in 1985 (about 13k per game) or even in the early 1990s when they had Doug Flutie (in the low 20k range). They have come a long way from those days and hopefully we never see that city revisit those kinds of attendance figures again.
