The Montreal Alouettes have fired defensive coordinator Jeff Reinebold.
Reinebold, who was a bit of a surprise hiring last off-season, lasted just one season with the Alouettes. Montreal's defence was fifth in the league in points allowed and third in yards allowed.
Reinebold's previous time in the CFL included a head coaching stint with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1997-98.

Montreal's D allowed more points than Calvillo and Co. managed to score... Not a surprise that Jeff is on his Harley out of town... too bad for us.

I am not surprised by this move but Reinebold's defence did improve over the second half of the season. Their playoff performance likely sealed his fate though.

Casey Creehan should be shown the door in Hamilton any day now and rumours have him resurfacing in Winnipeg as their new defensive coordinator.

A Ti-cat fan stated on the SOB's Facebook Group that Creehan's departure isn't a certain thing, this was from talking to a few people connected to the team. The Ti-Cat fans want somebodies head I figure.

Reinbold was a one-year experiment doomed to fail but at least he was on a winning team for a change and his D allowed the least points of the 3 teams that faced the champion argonauts so kudos for that.

Als announce that Carabins DC Noel Thorpe has been named new Als DC. Very happy to see a familiar face again.

I wonder how much personality had to do with Reinebold's dismissal. He never seemed to be anything close to a Trestman kid of guy.

Trestman doesn't know Thorpe yet but Popp does. My guess is he wants a Chris Jones type of defence too.
