The timing is strange as all get out. This should have been done right after the last season ended. Not sure if this whole MLSE bunch has any sort of a friggin clue about anything. THANKFULLY the Argonauts aren't owned by this bunch of flunky clowns.

Nonis is the new GM.
Burke stays on as Sr. Advisor.
Luongo to Toronto? Please no.

Once again, I'm glad that The Argonauts aren't owned by the band of morons. The presser told us squat. I guess Burke isn't a yes man that the new ownership wants.

Is there any chance of getting them to start the lock out again. I'm already starting to get sick of this non stop NHL news.

Deerkeeper on right there with you on that. It does get sickening with all of the hockey is Canada and Canada is hockey BS. No wonder why I've gone from hockey fanatic who lived and breathed the sport to total CFL fanatic in the last 30 years. The bigger and crazier the NHL has become has actually made me less of a fan. I can't just sit and watch just any two NHL teams play. Way to many watered down teams with guys getting paid way too much. I shouldn't say I hate hockey as I do really enjoy Jr hockey.

until there is a winter indoor cfl league we'll just have to make do with it.

I have always believed that Sportsnet changed the sports landscape in this country very much when it came to be in 1997. Since that time, NHL coverage has gone way over the top IMO as competition was created between TSN, Sportsnet and, to a lesser extent, The Score while CBC also had to up its game. The level of coverage just seemed to be more reasonable prior to 1997.

I have heard these rumblings about Burke's personal life from Simmons before but I still don't understand what they are about exactly. I know that he was having marital problems but there seems to be more to this story than what anyone is willing to say.

From the Simmons' column: "They fired him because they were tired of going to receptions and hearing: Did you hear where Brian was last night, or how he acted, or that, apparently, he was in places he didn’t need to be apparent?"

What does the above mean? Was he hanging around strip clubs and massage parlours?

It'll all eventually come out. I think he's just a loud mouth know it all that most people think is a royal jackass.

The rumour floating around was that the new ownership wanted him to go after Luongo, but Burke wouldn't and thus was fired.

Ravi it probably relates to Burke being active in the community for example the pride parade and going to Afganistan amd other events that maybe the ownerd didn't know about. Maybe they didn't approve of his trip to Broadway during their trip to NY.

Typical Steve Simmons crap. What ever happened to the days when sports reporters reported only on sports and not personal crap?

Wow, you'd almost think he was writing about someone like John Kordic. Gotta wonder if Burke would drop the gloves if they were to meet again face-to-face.
