I appreciate the Canadian government's help in rescuing some fellow Americans back a few months before I was born. What was the Canadian viewpoint of this?

Well back then Canadians thought they did all the work and were busting with pride. (Ken Taylor more awesome than known at the time) Canadians were also happy with the outpouring of thanks the States and it's citizens point our way.

'Argo f*** yourself'. best line in the movie. Perfect for Rogers.

Saw it tonight with my mom and we both loved it.

Anne Hathaway wins for Les Miserables. First meaningful Oscar and it's only 10:30. Ah no I missed Christoph Waltz. Geez it runs late.

I haven't seen the movie (Argo), but I was around (here, not there) and remember when the original events took place.

Basically, after the American hostages were taken in Iran, some avoided the initial capture, and managed to escape and find shelter in the Canadian Embassy there. Afterwhich, these fortunate Americans were able to escape Iran, disguised as Canadians.

Let me guess ... Hollywood still managed to eff up even such a simple concept as this....

They basically rewrote it to minimize or trivialize Canada's role.
