ARGONAUTS.CA STAFF
TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club have announced that import OT Tony Washington (http://argonauts.ca/roster/show/id/4509) has been signed to a contract extension through the 2014 season.
Originally signed by the Double Blue on July 4, 2012, Washington made 15 consecutive starts at left tackle, bookended by games against the Calgary Stampeders beginning in Week 7 and culminating in a Grey Cup Championship on November 25 at Rogers Centre.
The Toronto Argonauts would also like to announce the signing of import WR Derrick Williams (http://argonauts.ca/roster/show/id/5745). An Offensive and Special Teams standout at Penn State University from 2005-2008, Williams was drafted in the third round (82nd overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. He has since spent time with Detroit and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gotta like this! His arrival, imo, was a major catalyst for our fortunes reversing. The O-Line gelled with him guarding Ricky's blindside and was rock solid down the stretch.

Yes bluto, after not being able to secure long term employment with Calgary, I hope Washington has found himself a home with the defending Grey Cup Champions. His arrival seemed to solidify the Offensive Line.

SirVincent Rogers may have his work cut out for him in his quest to beat out Washington.

Great news plus in that story we also signed what could be a solid receiver in Williams.

Washington really loved his time in TO which makes this that much better. Nice when I guy really loves where he plays.

I agree. It was so obvious how much better the O-Line became once he arrived. Belli should give him a kiss for helping him win the Grey Cup. Oh! He's probably already done that.

I can't remember if was this forum but I remember a lot of posters weren't happy when we first signed him. How times have changed.
