Pretty surprising that blue-chip talent like Derrick Williams and Adonis Thomas would be cut at this point. Williams is 27 and maybe has decided to hang em up. But Adonis Thomas is a real head scratcher, little guy with great moves, tailor made for the CFL, why release him? Is it possible the Argos are being nice guys and letting these guys pursue NFL opportunities?

I don't think that it is anything more than they liked the players they added better than the ones that they released. Thomas and Williams simply may not have shown enough at the mini-camp to impress.

Have to admit I liked what I found on youtube a while back on Adonis Thomas. The life of a pro athlete.

i figure that they looked at the guys who they released and asked, "Is X going to be able to beat out Y for his place in the team?" and if the answer was "No way", then that was that.

You mean none of those guys were "penciled in" by the "thinkers"?
