If we are picking just ONE song...the one thats rocks...the one that works with a cold beer on a summer day...the one that makes you drive like Paul Tracy on the 401....the one you can just ROCK OUT too, in front of the mirror after your morning bowl of Cherrio's...

It is this song...by Jerry Doucette.....

While I was never a big fan of Rush, I must admit that their songs have been growing on me, including the song above. Rush's music reminds me, and brings back memories of, summer nights and partying, whether in backyards, or up north camping.

Nevertheless, here is Steppenwolf, Born To Be Wild : http://vimeo.com/26084164

Keep your face in the wind, forever !

Speaking of Rednecks, I've seen some show called "Duck Commander", enticing my attention on the cable channel line-up/listings for some time now, and seeing as I've had a few pops tonight, I finally decided to watch it. Now, being at least a semi-intellectual, I don't normally watch "reality shows", but I must admit, this one had me chuckling a few times. Like when the one guy said that his buddy uses his backyard as an unlimited storage shed.

Anyway, Redneck humour is fun, especially when Rednecks make fun of themselves.

And when we party up north, we're all Central Ontario Rednecks, and Central Ontario Newfies (and we even got a few real Newfies, drinkin' with us).

Cheers !

Here's a clip of Ricky, from the Trailer Park Boys, opining upon the differences between Rush and Helix, two great Canadian bands:

[WARNING : Coarse language, including the "F" word. Viewer discretion is advised.]

And here's the whole episode (same language warnings apply) :

And sorry about the language, folks, but the Trailer Park Boys, are truly a Canadian Classic.

Cheers !

And let's not forget Neil Young.

Sure, he plays at being a Socialist (and we'll forgive him for that), but anyone with a half-decent or serious income to protect, or any serious property/other assets, votes Conservative, no matter how they might pretend to be the starving, self-righteous lefty, to their fans.

(Ok, had to get that shot in.)

By the way, I don't mean to play the elitist Redneck card, but I have never gotten into Cheerios, since I was probably about four years old. I prefer a BLT, followed by another BLT. Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich (with mayo, salt and pepper), followed by a shot of Benzene, Lime, and Tequila.

This helps to prevent the onset of Anheuser's, further on down the road....

Hmmmm....well i'd kinda think a few cold one's from Anheuser's-Busch would be the ultimate follow up to that kinda breakfast....

Not to worry, 1argoholic; at least you finally managed to post a link, even if refers to some blocked video, which can't be accessed, at least not by me. Just post up who the band and song is, and one of us will try to find it and post it.

Cheers !

Oh, don't worry, Sir, there are definitely cold beers following that breakfast !

Actually, I only sip on straight (fridge-chilled) Tequila when I enjoy Mexican,

or Tex/Mex food. Or after a BLT; when hung-over, of course....

Also, I would like to to apologize to the mods,

for a thread I started called "Imaginary Sex, for Beginners".

(In the "Support and Improvements" sub-forum, since I thought that was were it belonged.)

Sure, I'd a few pops (beers), in fact many (and drank 1/3 of a bottle of Irish Whiskey),

but I will never use booze as an excuse, and my 24-hour ban was rightfully deserved.

Now, while I only talked about the advantages of having an imaginary Girlfriend

(whether you also have a real Girlfriend -- like me -- or not),

I can see how this humour may have gone past the boundaries, of Football seriousness.

I will try to mitigate my excitement, and sheer lust for life, in the future,

if I absolutely have to.

Ok, I will try to link to a few cool Punk Rock songs, if my short-term memory permits.

Though atually, as I've said before, even though I'm not a Punk Rocker,

I really got into some of the music, back in the day....

Midnight Blue

The funny thing is, even though I'd probably seen Teenage Head live almost a dozen times, back then they were just a very cool band. The Punk designation came later. Or maybe that was just our un-hipness.

Whatever.

Oh, GREAT SONG ! One of my all-time favourites....

(Sorry about the late reply, I was away ... with the Away-Team, in fact ...
one of my friends recently got a modest spread in Muskoka, and it was a great
extended Victoria Day long-weekend, including the usual partying, as well as
ribbon-cutting ceremonies, for the new headquarters of the Muskoka Cougar Patrol !)

Ka' Pla !

EDIT : Victoria Day is the celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday (May 24, 1819),
as well as Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday celebration in Canada (even though
Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926).

God Save The Queen !
