And I love it! Nice to see that Paul Godfrey's friendship with Roger Goodell is really paying off for him. :D

I really don't think that there is much of an appetite for American football outside of North America. I think that, at most, the NFL will play some more international games but I don't see any franchises outside of the U.S. for a very long time, if ever.

I'm an NFL fan, but this doesn't bother me all that much. We already have a Toronto football team to embrace.

Would have to agree, absolutely loved that Goodell finally is pulling a Tagliabue and indirectly saying that Toronto is not on the minds of NFL for another NFL team, nothing more then an extension of Buffalo. Put a great big smile on my face, now hopefully with this, the "planned" Casino at the Ex and one day the Canadian Football Act being passed, the Argos and TiCats could finally be regarded highly to the people in Southern Ontario.

Cathal Kelly's bottom line: There's a one-in-a-billion chance for a Toronto NFL team

Rob & Doug Ford's reaction today: So there's a chance!

Did the Toronto team in this league ever get off the ground? I haven't heard anything about them in a while.

I didn't even know we had a lingerie football team. Well despite being a heterosexual male, I've given that league no attention.

I thought that Rob Ford's niece (Doug Ford's daughter) was supposed to be on that team. I wonder what happened to her. I guess this league was to the Fords what the Arena League was to the Godfreys - a way to somehow get closer to their beloved NFL but didn't get them anywhere.

She quit the team along with some of the other players in protest to the coaching or something like that. Ravi, I doubt the Fords got any illusions from a Lingerie Football team.

Gurantee In the coming years watch for a change in tenor among NFL envious media here.

They have to abandon the smug "NFL-in Tor-is *inevitible-get used to it" attitude to the snarky "why oh why does the NFL have an anti-TOR/CDA bias ? -we dont deserve it! " in regards to expansion or relocation.

Much in the same way hockey media goes after Gerry Bettman and the NHL front office.

And watch for attendence reports from J'ville and Carolina dutifully recorded and reported in the above regard just like weak NHL markets were/are before the ATL move to WPG.

Book it.

The NFL knows that it has it's Canadian fans shelling out for merch and bus trips to Bills games and the like. I think they know that Toronto isn't a great sports city. If the Argos were selling out game after game they'd surely be willing to come and set up shop in TO. It would be nice to see Rogers finally get it and throw some support behind the Argos. I can't see it happening as they's rather be used and abused and bent over by the NFL.

I love this news!!! The NFL knows it has to continue to generate HUGE bucks or it'll implode while the so called lowly CFL just keeps on trucking.
