Nice to have this as a problem for a change.

Anyone here know how Darvin Adams is doing with the team? Nice to see Jason's Barnes doing so well in camp!

I hate to be a nervous Nellie, but let's remember that these things don't always turn out as they seem in pre-season. Just last year, people all around the league said our receiving corps was the worst in the CFL, and Owens was at best a backup receiver. Didn't turn out that way. And for those with longer memories, how about 1989, when our receivers were touted to tear up the league -- D.K. Smith, Emanuel Tolbert and Jeff Boyd, the "three mosquitoes," I believe they were dubbed. Instead, we had the league's worst passing attack that year.

Now I'm not saying that I don't like our talent at receiver -- I do, a lot. But none of us should smugly assume that we suddenly have by far the best pass-catching corps in the league. That will only be proven on the field in the weeks ahead.

It is true that the names like Darvin Adams, Reggie Williams and John Chiles are unknowns in the CFL, but I'm fairly confident in Chad Owens, Jason Barnes, Andre Durie, Dontrelle Inman, Romby Bryant and Spencer Watt.

The difference that I feel I can say with confidence between 1989 and 2013 is that Ricky Ray is not Gilbert Renfroe or John Congemi. While it is true that Renfroe had a solid 1988 season it still doesn't put him on the level of a Ricky Ray.
