The Winnipeg/Montreal game is at Winnipeg's new stadium. What are everyone's picks for the week? I am going with Montreal and Toronto for sure but having more trouble predicting the western games.

I say the Roughriders go over the Eskimos and the Stampeders give their city a lift after the flooding and beat the Lions.

Als - BC - Riders in the other games. Scores I have no clue.

McMahon is fine. The rest of the city is the problem. I wonder if they might move that game back a day or two.

Yeah, McMahon is on higher ground and farther away from the Bow from what I understand. The Saddledome and the Stampede grounds took serious damage, however, and I wonder what the status of the Stampede is because isn't that supposed to be soon, too?

Calgary Stampede will go ahead despite flooding (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2013/06/24/canada-calgary-stampede-alberta-flood.html)

What's worse for the Blue Bombers is that arguably their best player Chris Matthews is questionable for this week's game against Montreal.

Bombers not only in it but winning. Who saw this?

Montreal looks ordinary in this one.

Well that play definitely wasn't ordinary.

Don't you think Montreal appears off? You can tell things are not working great when Calvillo get ticked off....

Als often struggle out west.

Was that P.I.? Looked like it.

Als win.

Well at least it wasn't 52-0. Something for the Bombers to build on.

I expected the Bombers to play their best game tonight given that it was their season, home and stadium opener. Even at that, they lost and it is likely all downhill for them from here.

Fun way to start the year with a good back and forth game. Skinny Buck's still standing but they still lost.

Leaf fans and Bruin fans can attest to wrong assumptions.

i think that the "rematch" next week in MTL will tell the real story ....

dont think MTL looked as polished as in previous seasons, but am curious to see how they adjust...

skinny buck...YIKES...figure we may see him on a jenny craig commercial soon....he used to look like Dunnigan, now he looks like Damon

Were there not first possession touchdowns in each of the four games this week? Also, seven of the eight teams scored more than 30 points. When was the last time either of those things happened? Are we going to see a season where the average number of points per game is in the mid to high 50s or above or was the first week just a blip?

Let's hope we do. The entertainment value was incredibly high in three of the first four games.

I think we will see strong offensive games in at least the first half of the season. In the East, all four teams have a defence that is being rebuilt, restocked, reworked..... So it will be a few games before any of these defence will be strong and steady.
In the west, there have been many changes in personnel on the defence on all the teams maybe not to the same extent as the East but that may just be my perception as I follow the East in more detail.
This year the offence on the East teams is generally growing and have a stable unit of players that have returned as starters, so they should be ahead of the defence. Now later in the season...... That will be a different story later in the season as the defensive units gel, and improve. ..... I think it is similar in the west except for the poor Eskies. ... Hope Reilly is learning similar to Lulay did when he took over the offence....... Except for the cup part.

Edmonton's defense looked pretty awful yesterday, but some of the turnovers committed by the offense didn't help them either. I mean that pick-six at the end of the half should never have been thrown.
