The NFL has had some shady characters over the years but if Hernandez can be proven guilty of three murders, he will be at the top of the list.

Police say Indianapolis Colts (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/ind) safety Joe Lefeged has been arrested on gun-related charges after a traffic stop in Washington.
D.C. police spokesman Araz Alali says Lefeged was a passenger in a car that fled from police after a traffic stop for speeding early Saturday morning.
Police say they found a handgun in the car that authorities believe belonged to Lefeged.

MSNBC Live today said the arrest of Lefeged represents the 28th arrest of an NFL player since this year's Superbowl. The reporter attributed the much higher number of arrests of NFL players to their much larger rosters compared to the NBA, which also draws players from the often violent, poverty-stricken, American inner city ghetto as well, and to the fact that hockey and baseball have many non-American and non-ghetto players. Hockey being so expensive also tends to eliminate ghetto kids from taking it up. No doubt the police profiling of African-American males also contributes to their higher arrest rate as studies of young African-American and white youth show they use drugs at roughly the same rates.
One of the reasons I think so many of the Argo's African-American players are so eager to participate in the team's anti-bullying and football programs in Toronto is they see it as a positive way to counter the violent gun-oriented environment that is all too familiar to the urban ghetto that many of them grew up in and where young people often see drugs and guns as the only way to escape the poverty trap.
