I was out of power for 5 hours. Seems like only Mississauga had an outage.

I'm in North York and my power was out for 6 hours. Scarborough and York Region had outages, and I think parts of Etobicoke are still affected.

Last I heard we got 123mm of rain in less than 4 hours, and the norm for all of July is around 70.

brutal day, My mom has a basement entrance and her basement was 2 inches deep in water. I just got home from drying it out a half hour ago. I hope the worst is done.

We never lost power in Thornhill, but my grandparents (also in Thornhill) did lose power. There was no flooding in our basement either so we were fortunate.

Got away lucky as well. Only lost power for 8 hours. I'm in the Bathurst and Eglinton area.

Never knew the power went out all around the city. The news seemed like it was only in Mississauga.

It seems that the west side of the city was hit particularly bad in areas such as Rexdale and all down Etobicoke. As several have said power was lost in parts of North York. The DVP flooded and a GO Train was stranded, but I think if you lived east of there you were more or less spared the worst of the storm. You didn't hear much news from Scarborough and Durham Region.

^ Yeah, I think the eastbound GO routes had far fewer problems yesterday once they left Union.

Buttonville only had 20mm of rain and Waterloo had 2mm, so this storm, while very intense, was about as local as it gets.

I looked at the radar at one point before the storm hit and it didn't look bad, mind you Environment Canada's radar images aren't great. It must have intensified heading into the western part of Toronto and stalled.

My old neighbour sent pictures of our old house in Mississauga on the banks of Cooksville Creek just below Atwater. We would have been SCREWED! I witnessed some crazy water flowing down that creek but never did it spill over the banks in all the years that my family owned that home. The whole area was under water. Sad that I was sending them pics of our new house and they replied with those flood pics.

In Brampton I never lost power. Turns out at Pearson they got 1 more mil of rain than during Hurricane Hazel. Thankfully we did not have the high winds that came with it.

ya, the overflow was like nothing i have ever seen inthe GTA. The Etobicoke creek which runs along the banks of the Markland golf course just west of Bloor/Mill Rds was completely overflowing onto the greens and looked extremely dangerous. Reminds me of Jersey during Hurricane season. Alot of credit to the people of the GTA who are not used to something this bad but adapted well.

Know that area of Etobicoke real well as my aunt and uncle used to live two mintues from there. Always used to be a nice little creek.
