Alonzo Lawrence

It seems like he had quite a checkered past before coming to the Argos and it makes me wonder if we should worry about him. Last year, there was a state wide man hunt for him for failure to pay child support. Alonzo enrolled at Alabama and Southern Mississippi without ever playing a game at either school because of academic troubles. Clearly, he is a very talented young man and I have to wonder why the Riders let him go and if he is over these past indiscretions. So far his play has been lights out though!

Hopefully for his sake, he has turned the corner. A lot of young men have issues. This is likely his last chance to make something of himself. Hopefully he does just that.

It seems to be common for us to get talented guys who just couldn't stick long enough with other teams. As long as you give them a shot, they might surprise us all.
