as per The Province (http://blogs.theprovince.com/2012/02/09/about-turn-olafioye-back-with-lions/)
It would seem as if the Lions aren’t going to need to look far to replace Jovan Olafioye this season after all, as the 24-year-old is headed back to the CFL team less than a week after he left.

The Lions issued a release Thursday night indicating they have picked up the option on the 2012 portion of his contract after he had been released by the NFL’s St. Louis Rams earlier in the day.

St. Louis agreed last Friday on terms of a three-year contract which contained a pair of guaranteed salary clauses totalling $95,000. The release did not state specifics behind the decision, and player agent Dan Vertlieb said there would not be an attempt to sign with another NFL club even though option-year players have until Wednesday to do so.

In a club-issued release, Vertlieb said:

“The St. Louis Rams have notified Jovan Olafioye that they have released him from his contract due to their concerns about a medical issue. Given the closing window to explore opportunities in the NFL in Jovan’s current CFL contract, he will return to the BC Lions for another season after thoroughly addressing his status.”

Olafioye’s signing was reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Thursday. Less than a day later, he was gone. The Lions essentially only lost Elimimian. Wow is all I can say.
