Brandon Isaac uses the word "scapegoat" and a Sun article tries to make something of it. Most of the article is about how Isaac is now fitting in as a backup with the Cats.

Isaac needs to move on, still seems pre-occupied with what's happening with the Argos, maybe his inability to keep his mouth shut expedited hid departure!!

...no let him be pre-occupied with the Argos.... Maybe it'll throw off his game :)

I understand his strengths. I know his weaknesses and I think he does too

Ummm ... if he did know them he wouldn't be whinning about being a scapegoat. Also note that the Cats do not see him as a starter.

"When defensive captain Brandon Isaac began pushing the envelope in team settings earlier this month, the playmaking linebacker was released."

from the TO Sun article today and first I've heard anything like this about Isaac....

What the hell does "pushing the envelope in team settings" mean? How are we supposed to interpret that statement? It could mean almost anything.

Zicarelli has written a couple of cryptic things about Isaac's departure including what he wrote today.

I wouldn't call it cryptic when Zicarelli himself has no idea what he's writing about. I sometimes think I can understand what Ozzy Osbourne is saying better than what Zicarelli is writing.

Pushing the envelope ...... Isn't that something kids do in class?

I think its pretty obvious what "pushing the evelope in team settings" means. Its just a polite way of saying he didn't keep his big mouth shut when he should have.

I take that as a polite way of saying he gave his two cents when he should have shut the hell up.

The article should have said that he pushed the envelope too far and was removed from the team. Pushing the envelope means to test something past it's limits. You either succeed and enjoy a small victory or fail and have to deal with serious consequences.

It might also have meant he freelanced on the field, i.e. went beyond his own responsibilities and created coverage problems as a result. That's the problem with such a statement -- there are many possible interpretations and none of us who read it are any the wiser as to what was actually meant.
