This is my first look at Troy Smith - wow! He looks like a beast out there.

He has shredded the Hamilton defence for over 200 yards passing in the first half as the Als have built up a 31-3 halftime lead. Montreal has simply dominated Hamilton in every facet of the game and I hope that continues for another half.

This is the Hamilton team I know and love....hopefully after today the Argos magic # will be down to 1.

Austin sounded pretty testy in the halftime interviews (which are pointless anyway).

Hopefully the Argos defence is taking some notes watching this Montreal-Hamilton game.

The Ticats did indeed lose by a 36-5 score and the Argos are now one win away from clinching first place. The Als move to within one win of the Ticats in the race for second place with the two teams facing off again next week in Guelph to decide the season series.

I expect Montreal to finish in second place. There's no reason that they can't beat Hamilton again next week to tie the Cats in the standings (and own the tiebreaker), and they'll probably beat *us* the week after since we'll be resting a few people.

I'm still very impressed with Troy Smith's arm and his quickness. Montreal has a good OL and good receivers; once the latter get used to Smith's fastballs, watch out.

The Montreal defence was probably the most impressive part of their game today as well!!

I agree with you about Smith, Wobbler. Give Popp credit for finding some younger QBs who appear to be able to play at least a little. The jury is still out on all of Neiswander, Marsh and Smith but they have all looked quite good at times this season.

I was about to post that Montreal also needs a Winnipeg win over Hamilton on the final weekend of the season but they would only require that if they cannot beat the Argos.
