Boat… Women?! The Argos cheerleaders put together a music video — and it’s good (http://blogs.canoe.ca/slam/sports/boat-women-the-argos-cheerleaders-put-together-a-music-video-and-its-good/)

Just call them the Boatwomen.

The Toronto Argo cheerleaders put together a fun music video to the high-energy tunes Nicki Minaj.

And, it’s actually pretty entertaining.

During their recent trip to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Maarten aboard the Celebrity Reflection, the girls took time out of their CFL calendar shoot to entertain us with this beauty:

The clip currently has around 16,000 clicks. Expect that to rise – sharply.

Chances of the Boatmen topping this during their upcoming season?

Remote.

^Personally I hate this kind of stuff, especially the garbage "music", but anything to get the Argos brand out there and make an attempt to attract a newer demo is always a good thing.

This video made it to the Sports Illustrated website. At least it's good publicity.

^ Yup, it's time the CFL and especially the Argos start firing back in a hostile marketplace. Timing couldn't be better with the Bills fiasco in the news (or being swept under the rug).

Nice video, but the reporter couldn't help but take a swipe at the Argos attendance.

No, Larson is a dink and is relegated to blogging. Really disappointing how once news worthy canoe.ca, transformed into a bastion of infotainment garbage. A real shame.

If by no names? you mean soccer, that is affirmative, but he seems to be doing a fair amount of the blog thing. Good place for him as the blog is about commensurate with his writing.

Expect that to rise – sharply.

I can attest to that! Oh you mean the number of clicks? Yeah I guess so.

Considering how much of Argo marketing in the past reached the excitement level of Rip Van Winkle's 20 year sleep, I was quite impressed by the video giving the Argos a fun image that should appeal to the young (as well as old coots of course).

Geez. I viewed this on Fri morning and it was at 18k views. It's now at 41k. That's a pretty decent uptick. I was actually struck by how the team and logo are pretty much absent from the video. Perhaps that's not a bad thing. Just keep it subtle.
