This article could be posted under the CFL section or this one but there is a fair bit of discussion about the Argos' situation including quotes from Jim Barker, Chris Rudge, and Mark Cohon about the Argos: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/panic-time/article20592630/?page=all

This is a very good article about the CFL/Argos from the Globe and Mail which is something that we don't get to say much these days. The quote from Leo Ezerins about those minor football players in Aldershot, btw, is particularly concerning.

Thanks, ArgoRavi, an interesting article that you've cited.

If MLSE cares to purchase the Argonauts, a deal will certainly be manifest within the next couple of quarters. There is, apparently, no alternative and Braley's asset is losing value by the day. So if he wants out - and he does - he'll have become reasonable, and soon.

As for this:

The Argos fired some employees in their business operations this summer, and several others quit in light of the uncertainty. One source who spoke on the condition of anonymity called the business work environment “really toxic” and said the leaders “just aren’t forward thinkers.”

I doubt this refers to Barker and Milanovich: who may this refer to, particularly?

I assume they simply refer to the managers in the off-field department. I don't think it has anything to do with Milanovich or Barker.

The short-term to mid-term problem facing the Argos is getting a stadium. Even if that is solved, the Argos must start working hard on getting more than such a small fraction of youth - 6 for the CFL (and only 4 for the Argos) out of 40 football-playing youth - identifying with individual Argo players and the team in order to survive in the long-run.
