It goes without saying that you would have to consider Montreal the favorite over Ottawa and probably Hamilton over Winnipeg. It will be interesting to see if the Ticats' recent hot streak is isolated to Tim Hortons Field or whether it extends to the road as well. I guess the same applies to Montreal who have been hot at home of late, but still struggles on the road. Calgary should be pretty ornery after their loss to the Alouettes.

But they are more banged-up than ever.

Yeah, but Cornish should be back, and I bet Tate has a great bounce back game. There is also the Kevin Glenn factor.

I pick: Montreal, Edmonton, Hamilton and Calgary...but I'll really be pulling for Ottawa and Winnipeg.

Argos just might be looking at 3rd place after this week.

I'm going with Montreal, Edmonton, Hamilton, BC.

Hamilton's D (particularly the Line) is becoming a bit of a force, and the QB looks promising.

Montreal, Edmonton, Hamilton and Calgary all come out with wins this week.

Montreal 34 - 17 Ottawa
Saskatchewan 20 - 26 Edmonton
Hamilton 24 - 22 Winnipeg
BC 15 - 22 Calgary

Nice to see the FNF double header back. I really like those and feel like that is the CFL's signature games. Like the NFL has Sunday's and Monday Night the CFL has FNF double headers, glad it's back this week.

And a Saturday night doubleheader too. Better get these in before hockey starts up again.

I think I'd wait to see if Willy is playing before I decide to pick the Cats in that game at IGF.

Good point. However, the Bombers have been on a slide even with Willy. My picks for this week are Ottawa (they are surely well overdue for a win), Edmonton, Hamilton, and Calgary.

Saturday is nice too but I tend to get more football watching time in on Friday nights rather than Saturdays.

My god, what is it with the Red Blacks and the red zone. They seem to be cursed everytime they're inside the 35. Last Sunday was an anomaly I guess.

They did it! Finally got a TD in their own stadium.

I don't think that I have ever seen a more snakebitten team at home than this Ottawa team when it comes to scoring TDs. Hopefully the dam has burst now and they will score a bunch more.

Montreal may well win this game to go into 1st in the East, but with that offence, they will still finish 3rd when all is said and done....Still think Burris is done..sorry Ravi:)

I kind of agree with the TSN crew, at least most of them. His supporting players have been brutal.

Watching Montreal and Ottawa play, there is no way, I mean no way the Argos don't collect 3 wins against these squads the rest of the way.

I am not so sure about that. Mtl's defence is one of the best in the league, IMO, and Ottawa keeps blowing games they should win -- sooner or later they're bound to win one. Hopefully it happens before the final week of the season.

I don't know how badly we can blame the coaches for Ottawa, but does Rick Campbell look to be one of the most laid back and passionless head coaches you've seen. I have yet to see him get excited. Maybe that's something that is missing.

I can't sugarcoat his play when the chips were down tonight. Burris has been a pro since 1997 and looked like he had as much experience as Danny O'Brien on that final drive. I have complained about this before but the art of managing the clock in this league is a lost one. The RedBlacks should have gotten at least two or three more plays off in the final minute than they did.

I'm glad the mucus riders got the doors blown off them by the Esks. Montreal's D was wicked!

I didn't get to watch the games Friday night, but it looks like Defense rules again.
It also was interesting to see that the riders switched up their QB. I'm thinking Sunseri was having a lesson ..... Jones Defense looks like a challenge for the young QBs. Glad we have Ricky ..... Now to get to the playoffs!

Hamilton gets two more games against Ottawa, Montreal gets them one more time. The Argos must, absolutley must win those 3 games I mentioned & at least split with Hamilton. As for Montreal, they average 11 or so points on the road. It will be embarrasing if we finish out of the playoffs to team like that...can't believe they keep dressing Chad "7 Receptions" Johnson out there every week.

We will see on Saturday afternoon what Edmonton can do with an elite starting qb who has his weapons back. Look forward to making the trip to Skydome for that one.

I think that you are being kind about Sunseri. I am just not sure that he is a CFL-calibre QB. Riders will have to win games with their special teams and defence from here on out, by the looks of it, but it is tough to win in the playoffs without any offence.

Do you think Saskatchewan pursues Burris from Ottawa? Is there a trade deadline in the CFL?

There is a trade deadline in October. They should make inquiries about Burris as there appear to be few other options. I suppose that they could look at someone like Quinton Porter who has started and won games in this league and played under Cortez in 2012. Sunseri just doesn't look capable and their other two guys - Doege and Price - are very raw.

Oh the irony and the amusement. Nevertheless, recycling veteran Hank looks the a very suitable option and solution.

I wouldn't say he isn't CFL caliber. He just hasn't played long enough to show whether or not he can be a consistent CFL caliber QB. Funny, to hear Rider fans saying after Willy signed with the Bombers that it was no big deal, because in their minds Sunseri was going to be better. We shall see.

What it does tell me is that Durant is a lot better than many gave him credit for.

That is probably a better way of saying it. So far, Sunseri reminds me of Cody Pickett in that he has brief flashes of effective quarterbacking (1 quarter out of 12 so far) but hasn't been able to do that consistently.

I really am hoping the league decides to go back to 42 for the active game roster next year. In 4 games this weekend, there was a total of less than 100 points combined. It's pretty obvious teams have used the 2 extra spots on defensive players, allowing for more substitution and a fresher defensive unit.
