I don't know how reliable this source (http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop) is but it seems to suggest that Himebauch will join the Argonauts coaching staff as Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach. You will recall that Himebauch had been hired as the Argonauts offensive coordinator when Milanovich took over the coaching job in late 2011, but that he left before the season started.

This move makes sense, Argonauts offer a more prominent position and fill a need at the same time.
O-Line play dropped off significantly from 2013 to 2014.

The first time he signed with the Argos there were glowing reports of what a good up and coming potential Head Coach he was going to be. He has moved around a bit though since, but maybe will stay for a while this time. Could be a potential replacement for Milo if he decides to move on in a year or so. I remember his short career with the Argos where he filled in at Center for the last part of one season.

I don't get it, why hire a guy again who left under suspicious circumstances last time?

Because he didn't leave under "suspicious circumstances". He was up front about the job offer that he got south of the border and opted for that instead of staying in Toronto at that time.

If indeed this report is true he is a huge upgrade as O-Line coach from the guy last season, he might also add a little different perspective regarding the Argonauts offensive schemes which to me is a good thing.

A football writer for the Edmonton Sun is also reporting this rumour: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I&#39;m hearing highly respected <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Esks?src=hash">#Esks</a> O-line coach Jonathan Himebauch may be on the way to <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Argos?src=hash">#Argos</a> to become their assistant head coach. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/CFL?src=hash">#CFL</a></p>&mdash; Gerry Moddejonge (@SunModdejonge) <a href="https://twitter.com/SunModdejonge/status/558758634939617281">January 23, 2015</a></blockquote>

If true, you guys are adding an excellent coach to your staff. Himebauch really turned around our O-line last year. He's well liked and respected by the players too.

Just going by memory, but did the Eskimos have difficulty contacting Himebauch after his hiring, thus leading to doubt if he was ever going to show up?

There were some issues with the media unable to contact him when the signing was announced. It was a combination of Himebauch focusing on unfinished business at home and not responding to calls that didn't come through the proper channels. Chris Jones was well aware of his delay in getting into town and that's all that really mattered. Media blew it out of proportion a little bit.
Here's a link to his press conference for the Esks last spring.

Himebauch is an experienced coach with very solid credentials. I think this will be a major upgrade over Chiu, who has good potential but isn't there yet.

Like the first time, whose to say we will see him for training camp?

Yeah, and Foley sucks, and Ricky Ray is past his best-before date. Is there any Argo news you like, ever?

He, he, he.

However - i sort of share some of that sentiment about Himebauch bailing before. Cause I don't like CFL management treating their football team as some sort of temporary or secondary stop / cup of coffee - for players AND coaches - who would rather be doing something else "back home". Sign, hire, draft guys who are proud to be Argonauts and want to be here. How would you like it if some NFL team decided they wanted Ricky Ray as a veteran QB insurance plan a month before the coming season and Barker said - "oh sure you can go, i'll just rip up your Argonaut contract" ? - surely some could defend this by saying we don\t want to stand in the way of any good opportunity for our players or coaches. Not me though.

Is that a new photo or did they just recycle the one from 2012?

My guess would be the latter.

LOL. Cost savings? or can't find him.

All joking aside I saw Himebaugh giving a talk to players a few years ago and I almost wanted to strap on the hat and get out there. I think the Argo O Line will love him.

As I and many have stated Himebauch is a huge upgrade as O-Line coach, factor in the trade the other day and I'd say a pretty productive weekend for the Argonauts!!

I guess the Edmonton "Training Facilities" speach Jones gave Watkins last offseason did not work on Himebauch. :)

Maybe one year working with Jones as the "Big Cheese" was enough for Himebauch, I suspect he will have much more input with Toronto than possible with Edmonton, also has a history with Milanovich.
Wonder how long he will stay given his previous track record.

I have to admit, I was worried that the Argos hadn't announced any additions to their coaching staff. You hate to end up with the leftovers.

I am very pleased that we have Himebauch as our Oline coach. And if he is the assistant coach as well, that may just provide him with the job description and salary that will hold him here for a few years.
The fact that he took Barker up on the offer to return to the Argos is a good sign.

Huge pick-up by the Argos. IMO the best OL coach out there in the CFL.
Wonder if Himebauch could also be the future Head Coach of the team.
