No shite! Why does Toronto media think it's shite doesn't stink and that TO is all World class. Last time I looked Vancouver had become this huge World Class city hosting Olympics and all sorts of stuff. Toronto media needs to get way back down to F'ing earth.

And why is Rudge telling this info to some guy from the Spec for his blog ... and not calling a press conference to play up this big news to the Southern Ontario media?

The Toronto media would probably be upset if he made them come for a press conference to release two snippets of information that could just as easily be put into a press release.

Chris Rudge has been saying this in pretty much all his interviews on TSN1050 and Fan590.

No other form of media has picked up on it until now.

With all the goings on with the CFL Congress this week. There is 1 article in the Toronto Star about it

Yes unfortunately it is hockey, hockey 24/7 over the top hockey coverage in all media.

Here's a good news CFL story you won't probably be reading in Toronto newspapers. Grey Cup 100 has the potential to be an even a bigger event:

Tourism Vancouver announced today that last November’s Grey Cup Festival and Championship resulted in an economic impact in excess of $118 million for the province of British Columbia.

The 2011 Grey Cup Festival ran from November 24th through the 27th and played host to 130,000 fans of which 33% came from outside the province, making more than 290,000 visits to official and associated events including the Grey Cup Parade, Vanier Cup, and Grey Cup game.

These record-setting economic Grey Cup numbers also resulted in the creation of more than 800 jobs and almost $18 million in taxes collected at various levels of government. Total direct spending by visitors was just under $43 million and the total number of overnight visitors hit 59,005.

Played before a capacity crowd at the recently refurbished BC Place, television numbers indicated that more than 11 million Canadians or one-third of the country’s population tuned in for part of or all the game.

“By every standard, Grey Cup 2011 was a tremendous success and left a lasting legacy of goodwill, pride and positive media coverage for our city.”

Just saying...why would Rudge call a press conference to announce an "almost sell-out"...that would be pretty stupid/embarrassing.

Im sure it will be 100% sold out by the time the season starts, and a BIG announcement will happen.

Even the CFL haters in the media will be on the "Grey Cup" bandwagon...hopefully some will turn to the "darkside" and see the Argo's in a positive light also.
