Trevor Harris was selected the CFL's Top Performer for the week.

By completing 24 of 27 passes Harris acheived the 8th highest pass completion percentage (88.9%) in one game in CFL history. Not bad for a second start.

With less than a 100 career pass attempts and making his first start on the road in Edmonton (did that really feel like a home game to you???) against the CFL's best defence in 2014 I don't think many people gave Toronto much of a chance to win. Instead Harris looked like the next Ricky Ray, firing the ball over the field with eight different Argonauts making at least one reception.
Oh sure his first touchdown pass to Brandon Whitaker "may" have been the result of some creative picks downfield but his deep throws to Kevin Elliott and Chad Owens were the sort of quality passes you need to hit on to be a winning quarterback in this league. Harris' mastery of the Scott Milanovich offence went beyond his ability to hit the home run pass.
On the Vidal Hazelton touchdown, Harris looked off several targets before finding Hazelton over the middle. No way was Hazelton the primary target on that play. On a side note is there a classier sounding football name than "Vidal Hazelton"?
A ton of credit has to go to Milanovich for not only coaching up Harris but for integrating so much youth on this team as Hazelton, Gurley and Elliott were all making their CFL debuts on Saturday. Of course we have to remember this was only one game -- mistakes and sloppy play are coming to a team that is littered with rookies.
That said, this was an important victory for a team that won't play its real home until August 8. For such a young squad looking for an identity after losing their its quarterback, this was the kind of win that should give much-needed confidence that Harris can be counted on.
