Shomari Williams has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos after being cut by Calgary in March, after never fully living up to his early promise.

Defensive lineman Shomari Williams has been signed to the Edmonton Eskimos practice roster, the team announced on Monday.
Originally drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders first overall in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft, Williams has since recorded 91 defensive tackles, 50 special teams tackles, five quarterback sacks and an interception.
The team nominee for Most Outstanding Rookie in 2010, Williams played four seasons with the Riders (2010-12, 2014) without missing a game during his first three seasons.
Williams, a Toronto native who went to Queen’s University, also spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2013) and Calgary Stampeders (2015).

Fourth team in five seasons. This could be the last-chance saloon for him.

I recall some criticism on this forum five years ago when the Argos traded down in that draft rather than take Williams with the first overall pick. He certainly has been a bust so far.
