This was a thread revived on Riderfans, no doubt in part to their team's 0-8 start. However, I wouldn't necessarily classify the 2015 Saskatchewan Roughriders in this category yet, but which teams would you put in that category. Some candidates that come to mind:

2013 Winnipeg Blue Bombers
2009 Toronto Argonauts
2003 Hamilton Tiger-Cats
1997 Hamilton Tiger-Cats
1995 Ottawa Rough Riders (surrendered 685 points)
1993 Toronto Argonauts
1991 Hamilton Tiger-Cats
1988 Ottawa Rough Riders
1981 Toronto Argonauts
1981 Montreal Alouettes
1979 Saskatchewan Roughriders

Some of the late 60's Blue Bomber and Eskimo teams were awful as well.

'81 Argos weren't bad in the first 4 games...all close losses. Then Terry Greer was injured, and everything spiraled downhill fast. They were brutal over the last 12 games. The'88 Rough Riders were pretty bad. They got blown out A LOT that year.

1995 Toronto Argonauts should also be up there. That was a dreadful team. They may have had 4 wins compared to 2 for the 1981 team, but that 1981 Argos team had way more talent to work with. Wasn't 1995 the year when the league scheduled that great Labour Day Classic with the Argos hosting the San Antonio Texans and got killed something like 45-27. I remember not even watching that game or even looking forward to it. The Argos were dreadful from Day 1 of that season and never really played competitively at all that year in the CFL's Northern Division, yes, Northern Division.

I guess on record, that 2-16 Ottawa Rough Riders team was one of the worst in 1988. Did the Ticats have 2 seasons at 1-17 or just one, I remember the 1997 year as they had gotten Anthony Calvillo from one of the US teams that folded but gave him no protection and nobody to throw to. Were the Ticats also 1-17 in 2003.

The 1997 Tiger-Cats were 2-16 and the 2003 Tiger-Cats were 1-17.

Yes, that 1995 team was pretty bad. That was the year Kent Austin was brought in after his best before date, and yeah the Argos played San Antonio on Labor Day that season.

I dont know the records, but my 1, and 1A are,

1- The David Beckman coached Ti-Cats...horrible to watch

1A- The Montreal Concordes when Luc Tousigant was the starting QB

just BAD football teams

Has to be one, any, or all of those Argonauts teams whose games I listened to on CFRB back in the day (when Rothmans was "the best tobacco money can buy"... cough, cough... die horribly).
