I suppose the Ti-Cats could bring in Congi?

Medlock's position is not guaranteed in Carolina. He will have to battle veteran Olindo Mare, who is still a descent kicker and recently signed a contract extension himself.

The Ticats could also bring back Sandro DeAngelis. In the case of both DeAngelis and Congi, they would have to find someone else to punt though. I wonder what Nick Setta is up to these days.

Will miss long FG accuracy. Wont miss bottom dwelling punting avg.

Congi is a possilbility. Presently have a CDN kid Josh Maveety who may be able to do both. Safe bet is HAM brings the kid and at least one veteran to camp. Plan B would be another import.

FG kicking...wish the Argo's had that..our old kicker was 6th out of 8 teams..we need an upgrade badly...our guy is a fan fav, so he is gonna stay..i'd rather have talent, not an old crappy, yet highly popular leg

If they're keeping Prefontaine only because he is popular with fans, how do you explain the departures of Byron Parker and Kevin Eiben?

Prefontaine was third in punting and fourth -- not sixth -- in field-goal percentage among kickers with at least 30 attempts. In what world is making 82.2% of your field goals "crappy"? As for him being "old," he just turned 38. Paul McCallum is 43, and his best years have been the last six seasons.

I have no idea what makes you so down on Prefontaine but so far I haven't heard a legitimate reason to throw him under the bus.

He should have been PROPERLY replaced when he was traded to Edmonton..(that was good move as he was on the downside then)

Prefontaine is 6th out of 8 teams overall....

You are basing how good he is as a place-kicker on how many points he scored? So if he made 100% of his field goals, all of them from 50-plus, but he had only 10 tries because his team's offence was so bad, you'd be saying get rid of him because he scored fewer points than the other kickers?

Precisely, in this case, a kicker is only as good as his team's offense allows him to be.

You nailed it Paul, his logic is flawed
