I'm curious to see who plays, and for how long, in that Calgary at B.C. game.
Playoff spots are set in the west, so that game has no meaning.

Of course, the same could be said for the Winnipeg at Toronto and Saskatchewan at Montreal games, but only the Argos have a playoff spot among those teams.

Great news about Bridge, I have wanted to see the kid play for quite some time (I don't watch much NCAA, aside from Wolverine games).

Interesting move by Jim Poop - want to see what Bridge has I guess.

First Canadian QB to start a game in the CFL in almost 20 years - just rad man.<iframe id="rufous-sandbox" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true" style="position: absolute; visibility: hidden; display: none; width: 0px; height: 0px; padding: 0px; border: none;"></iframe>

Well, Ottawa looks really solid heading into the playoffs, Argonauts will need to figure out how to play well in the Hammer.

Great for football in Ottawa, also enjoyed Kent Austins poopy face routine during the game yesterday, looks good on him.
Imagine the sideline show from him if the Argonauts put everything together next week and actually win, the guy will blow a gasket!!

So if Bridge has a rough game, will you call him a stiff like you do with American QB's that don't play well in their first starts?

I liked what I saw from Bridge today, he wasn't overwhelmed, had great pocket awareness and "escapability", made some very nice throws all game and made good reads for the most part IMO. I've heard from quite some time that he has major accuracy issues, maybe people were confusing him with Boone or that McGhee kid for the Lions who gunned 5 yard passes. At the same time this game has to be put into perspective, it was the last game of the season which had no real meaning to it and it was up against a Sask defense that's generally considered to be the worst in the league.

Sure I will ... oops - he had a very nice game; clearly & easily about 10x better than that stiff Marsh; and better than Boone who somehow rated playing time above Bridge early in the year.

Interesting year coming up for the Als - will Poop be back as HC and for their QB situation - LeFevour & Crompton both back from injury?; is vet Glenn still in the mix; really liked what I saw out of Cato this year - a potential future star CFL QB IMO; and now Bridge shows he belongs - rocket arm, big & can run and showed good accuracy with a high completion % (that was the knock against him). Be very interesting to see if Bridge if considered in their QB mix next year, or if any other CFL team will show interest in him if he is cut there.

Waiting to see if top notch CIS QBs who will be available to the CFL next year - Finch, Buckley & Cousineau in particular - get any type of rea CFLl look - like the dozens of American QBs who do CFL year in and year out.

I think Crompton, Boone and Marsh are not going back to Montreal and I could see LeFevour get one more shot to stick around the CFL. Glenn, Cato (who's ridiculously overrated IMO), Bridge, and Boyd are back.

Just finished watching the game on PVR. Bridge looked very good today. I'm glad he was given the chance to play, and hopefully he can parlay that into a good career. He has an unreal arm.

I was impressed with him today as well. He didn't make any glaring mistakes while making some big plays. His most impressive play was his TD throw to Cunningham early in the 4th quarter in which he was forced to scramble to evade the pass rush. That made the score 24-6 and it looked like a sure thing that he would be the first Canadian starting QB to win a game since Greg Vavra in 1985 but the Montreal defence could not hold, the Als had a weird fumble with a little over a minute left and Brett Smith engineered an impressive comeback for the Riders.

Crompton is saying that he is retiring to return to school and I think it is safe to say Marsh won't be back either. That leaves them with 6 QBs. Bridge and Cato are sure bets to return and I am pretty sure that Glenn signed a new contract when he was traded to the Als so he will be back too. I think that they like Boone too but not sure what they do with Boyd or Lefevour.

Cato has what it takes to be a successful CFL QB, except perhaps the size / durability required for any kind of sustained career. (Flutie, to my knowledge, is the only undersized QB to have demonstrated that "size doesn't matter".)

Ron Lancaster, Condredge Holloway, Matt Dunnigan, Tracy Ham just to name a few more.

Too early to tell. It was his first year out of college, and I thought he did pretty good for not even having a year of learning the league. I think he will be pretty good. He was much better than Crompton and Marsh as well as guys like Matt Nicols, and they have been here some time.

I don't disagree about being better than Crompton, Marsh and Nichols, but the amount of hype over Cato was beyond ridiculous, he's a game manager with very little athletic ability IMO and looks brittle. Personally I think Bridge has a boatload more potential (being Canadian makes no difference to me, but it would be nice to see), though considering how wrong I was about Marsh, what do i know lol. I believe Glenn's deal with the Riders was a 2 year deal, so he could be a good stop gap for the Als until one of the young guys are ready.

I know what you are saying, but let's be honest, how many first year pros come into the league and not be game managers? I think he ran pretty well too, so I don't see what you do as far as his athletic ability. He may be as you say brittle, but to me, that is the only think standing in his way of being a good QB.

Agreed on Bridge. I hope he really grabs the opportunity.

Jennings, Reilly and Collaros come to mind as of late, I wouldn't describe them as game managers. Durant has now become a game manager but didn't start out that way IMO.

I meant straight out of college. Reilly and Collaros had the opportunity to be with CFL teams for a while before starting. Jennings was in some NFL camps in 2014 as well as Saskatchewan. This was Cato's first year out of college. It makes a huge difference.

I didn't know that, I knew it was his first glimpse of the CFL, I suppose I just assumed he got some NFL camp invites.

I don't want to repeat my previous post about Cato. The only thing that he really lacks (besides experience, of course) is size: stature may or may not prove decisive.

Good for Bridge; keep it going next season. Onwards and upwards.

Good experience for Bridge in a semi-preseason game, nothing more, nothing less. The best part for me was seeing the joy on his dad's face.
