You're the head coach of a franchise that lost millions of dollars a year up until now and you treat your beat writer, who gives you free advertising and good coverage daily, like a POS. Simply bad form there. Some members of the media may be absurd, but Drew Edwards isn't one of them.

SM may get a bit testy at points, but at least he never treats anyone like that.

Austin seems to be a guy who likes the media attention when he wins but doesn't understand he has to deal with them when he loses. Go coach high school if you can't take the heat.

You've hit the nail on the head with Austin. He was the same when he played. Never his fault when the team lost. He is the jerk store's all time best seller.

Clearly Austin was pissed off, likely at his team's performance based on one of his comments, but the disrespect to the question and questioner was out of line and worthy of an apology - which I don't believe has been issued.

"Did it hurt us?"
No, because your team was able to get the first down.
If your team didn't get that first down and the REDBLACKS kicked an easy field goal, and then you won by less than 9 points next week, you would have made an error that cost your team first place in the division.
Hardly a stupid question Mr. Austin.

I'm a bastard (sometimes) myself, and I would have been in the same mood after that game. Being made to listen to/answer those stupid questions I would have been pissed too, but I wouldn't let it be known by calling the question/s stupid to the reporter's (Drew Edwards') face. At least he has fire in him, unlike another coach we all know.

I guess he still hasn't learned after being fined for pushing Stala.

It is not stupid to wonder why a coach already down six points near "halftime" would deliberately do something to give the opposition a great opportunity to add to their lead. He needed to be asked that question. It was typical for Austin to lash out the way he did.

In his mind, It's Austin's world and everyone else is just living in it.

Austin's personality seems to fit his players.

You have to be gracious in victory and defeat, Austin hasn't figured this out yet (and never will).
He wasn't very popular as a player and is holding true to form now.

I didn't follow the league when Austin was a player but I'm surprised no player, opposing or teammate, tried to kick his ass.

Leading the Roughriders to their first GC in 23 years provided Austin a few years capital.
