Johnny Manziel's father says his son could die soon without help

Manziel has hardly made himself lovable, but I do hope he gets help.





Johnny Manziel (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/27550/) needs help, and quickly. So says his father, who believes the embattled quarterback is in deep trouble after twice refusing to enter rehab in the past week.

Manziel, 23, was dumped by his agent (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/johnny-manziel-s-agent--erik-burkhardt--dumps-him-as-a-client-153051580.html), Erik Burkhardt, on Friday a few days after his ex-girlfriend alleged he repeatedly hit her in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Both Dallas and Fort Worth police closed the cases (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/report--johnny-manziel-hit-ex-girlfriend-and-threatened-her-life-233233544.html) after investigating.
After the family learned of the incidents, it tried to intervene and get him help. But Paul Manziel was upset that Johnny was allowed to walk away from Carrollton Springs Hospital after Paul told police that he thought his son was suicidal. The facility is a psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient treatment to adults suffering from mental illness and/or addiction.
Manziel, who spent time in rehab last offseason, is expected to be released by the Browns. But more important than his employment status right now is his health. Those closest to him are seriously concerned for his life right now.

Dallas Police put out a statement on Friday saying that troubled Cleveland Browns (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/cle/) Johnny Manziel (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/27550/) will be investigated for a complaint of domestic violence assault, after all.
Last Saturday, Manziel and his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley were involved in an altercation. Manziel wasn't charged then and the case was deemed closed by Dallas Police. More details emerged on Thursday, including allegations from Crowley that Manziel hit her repeatedly and threatened to kill them both, and the Dallas Police Department said (http://dpdbeat.com/2016/02/04/statement-regarding-johnny-manziel/) "investigative efforts to date have not resulted in the filing of a criminal complaint and the incident is determined to be closed."

I hope he's not assuming the NFL should help out his son. Sorry, but it's on Johnny to get clean not the League.

I hope they keep him on their list -- it eats up a spot that would otherwise go to a player with actual potential to be signed.

He's obviously in need of some mental help. Perhaps a trip to Dr Phil. The guy needs people to step up and not dump his ass. He's like a kid crying out for help with his stupid actions. He was a great kid until he hit the NFL.
