I was hoping that Campbell might slide over to RT. I noticed a decline in Van Zeyl's play last year

Good trade IMO; a 3 rounder for an international offensive linemen is a steeper price than i would have expected. So it seems as though the Argonauts will go with at least 4 Canadians on the line.

I think it's safe to say the Argos will be going with 4 Canadians on the O-line this year.

Bourke-Holmes-Van Roten-Van Zeyl-Sewell, and Watman/Smith as the back-ups would be my guess/hope.

Yeah, the 18th overall pick is a nice return for Campbell.

The Argo release says it's the 27th. It would technically be a 4th rounder, but for the fact that Winnipeg forfeited their 3rd round pick.

I'm a bit more pessimistic: Bourke-Holmes-Van Roten-Van Zeyl-King with Watman+Smith as the backups and Sewell released.

We traded King to Saskatchewan for that DT Monroe.

Oh. Well, that's not a 3rd round pick then, Dunk!!

I think the Argos just saying "27th overall" avoids confusion.

Oh! Whoops. Then instead of King, I'll predict "Newly recruited import tackle" at RT.

That would be great, but I'm not counting on Sewell being ready to start yet. He has hardly played in two seasons. I really hope I'm wrong.

Baker Mayfield (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=129327&draftyear=2017&genpos=QB). Seems like there's a good chance he'll be drafted unless he has a poor senior year, but he doesn't look like an early round guy.

Good prospect for the negotiation list.

Looks like a good "CFL type" QB to have in the pipeline.

I think they better keep Dupuis on the field as a blocking FB to pick up those Rush Ends coming around Van Zeyl all the time. This almost guarantees Barker taking a someone like Oklahoma OT Josiah St. John with their first pick for more Canadian depth.

With both King and Campbell in Regina, what will become of talent FA T Xavier Fulton? I could see him coming here if healthy.

Whatever happened to Jas Dhillon? Wasn't he on the PR last year?

He was released at the end of TC last year...I am certain he spent the season on the Lions PR.

You would think Montreal would be all over Fulton after losing Bourke?

Alouettes drafted Jacob Ruby last season IIRC.

Yep - and Ruby played when one of (either Bourke or Perrett) the OTs was injured last year; he might be ready to take the starting job now, and Popp has been drafting O-linemen galore the past few years to keep the all NI O-line pipeline going (might luck out and get draft pick OT David Foucault back from the NFL's Panthers). He might be able to get one of those 3 big Laval hogs in this year's draft too - one of them is an OT.

Still though - I would not be that surprised to see Poop go with an import OT to replace Bourke if he doesn't feel Ruby or whatever other NI is ready or good enough. Having Muamba at MLB is a NI starter on D they did not have before, and apparently they are in talks with former draft pick DT Vaughn Martin who has bounced around the NFL for a few years - he could be a huge (in more than one way) signing and another NI starter for their D (Brouillette at safety too).

Martin already signed. Foucalt signed a futures/reserves contract (as did Marcus Ball) with the Panthers so him coming to Montreal will take a bit more time.

Wow? - you mean Martin confirmed signing with the Als? = great news for them.

Foucault, like Ball, could get cut by the Panthers at any time though - there is so much new talent vying for NFL spots every year; be great to see both those guys in the CFL too - especially Ball back with the Argos.

Martin hasn't played in a game since 2013 so I think we should wait to see whether or not he makes an impact. He certainly would have earlier in his career, but you have to wonder if he's still healthy and hungry.

Except that Martin is not some washed-up NFL has-been mostly looking for a quick pay-cheque like an Andre Rison.

He still has to earn his way on to the Als roster thru a good TC - not like he's an ex-NFL superstar hero that Poop is in love with (like an Ochocinco) - he might still have the fire to play, plus might be proud or at least happy to play in Canada where he has roots and experience playing in a yard off the ball defence.

Yes. "Might" being the operative word.
