I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told that each rivet on the shield actually represents an Argo Grey Cup victory.

I feel compelled to defend myself from this character assassination. Pretty slow day around my house today, so I recounted every piece of Argo merchandise that has the shield only. They do only have 14 rivets...but a helmet plaque on my basement wall with Jason holding the shield has 16 rivets....like I said...it is a slow day in Stratford today....need the season to start.

The Jason logo did have 16 rivets. The team won its 15th GC in 2004, last year of that logo. So I suspect there was never any intent to match the number of rivets to the number of Grey Cups. One thing the 1995-2004 unis did really well, IMO, was incorporate the rivets into the pants stripes. I wouldn't mind seeing that brought back (but of course with the correct colour scheme, which was not used from 1995 to 2004.

The Riders updating their logo does nothing to soothe my hatred for that particular franchise :)

The logo should have been an oil well sputtering out its last drop in order to be up-to-date with the times and their last season.
