The Toronto Argonauts signed four 2016 CFL Draft picks today: Jamal Campbell, Llevi Noel Johnathan Ngeleka and DJ Sackey.

Looks like we may be waiting a bit on Brian Jones. According to Zicarelli, Barker has admitted that he has a couple of NFL looks set up once the micro fracture in his wrist is good to go.


Toronto’s 2016 draft class is all but signed with the exception of first-round pick Brian Jones, whom the Argos believe will develop into an exceptional receiver.

With rookies and quarterbacks to begin their three-day camp Wednesday, Argos GM Jim Barker revealed Jones won’t be in attendance.

Jones, an Acadia product, suffered a micro fracture in his wrist area while training.

“He’ll have a CAT scan Thursday,” said Barker. “If all goes well, he’s got a couple of NFL workouts.”

Being as physical a player as he is, I can see him getting a decent look in the NFL.

If I were to take a guess, I would say yes. His non-import or national status certainly benefits him as he knows that the Argos will hold a job for him while he has these NFL workouts.

Yes Jones was at practise today wearing #16 without a name. He was doing sprints around the track sporting a wrist protector on either his right or perhaps his left wrist.
