I never understood why people on this forum thought that Collaros would come back to the Argos after his contract expired.
He seems to love it in Hamilton.
I'm not surprised he extended with the Cats.

Even Don Landry tweeted he was surprised by the signing and had heard rumours he would be going to free agency. I'm sure it was a common thought with many in the CFL media.

Oh well..I never really liked him anyways. He gives people of Greek descent a bad name.

:D

It's pretty simple really - Tillman is not known for what he calls "overpaying" QB's. He traded high priced QB's out of BC, Saskatchewan and Edmonton.

Wow. Still a good deal IMO - best QB in the CFL.

I am working on kicking him out of the Greek community. He's pure American to me now.

Two reasons I believe people automatically thought this:

1) Hamilton is well... Hamilton. It's not the bustling metropolis that Toronto is. If anyone had the chance to leave the city, they would (in a Torontonians mind)

2) Everyone hates playing for Kent Austin

When in reality,

1) Toronto's great and certainly more glamorous, but Hamilton is a fine city in the midst of revitalization. Many Ticats past and present (ZC included) have loved playing here.

2) While sometimes a jerk to the media (who often deserve it), players love playing for Austin. For whatever reason, fans around the league seem to think that EVERYONE hates KA, but it's certainly not true. He gets the best out of his players. He definitely has a great chemistry with Zach.

I don't recall anyone here saying the first part - the second part has been mentioned though. It's also been mentioned quite a few times actually that it's pretty clear Collaros loves it in Hamilton and may have taken on some of his coaches personality (wave incident started the thinking). As I mentioned previously - the thought that Collaros might leave Hamilton had pretty much everything to do with who the Ticats GM is.

Good move by Hamilton, hopefully for them his leg holds up.
